Mid-Atlantic-Virgina Rally INFO Aug 16 - 20 2012
OK, here goes. Vickie and I will host the Mid-Atlantic Rally this year. Larry & Pat Sessoms will be assisting us. We've had it in Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina in recent years so it's about time we had it in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The dates will be August 16th (arrival) to August 21st (departure). It will be held at Willow Tree Resort, Longs, SC. in Longs, S.C. close to North Myrtle Beach. We have a block of 25 sites reserved in their 75 to 107 site numbers.
Note: Registrations must be in by May 15 to secure a spot in our assigned rally area.
There are a ton of things to do in the area. Depending on the interest shown, we can get discounts for golf, shows, boat trips, etc. The park will give a 10% discount on their rates for the rally and if anyone cares to arrive a couple of days early or stay a couple of days later, the discount will still apply.
Post in this link if you plan on attending.

It is looking doubtful Jim. If Ashley is not in school, we will be there, but I have a hunch that school will start right around August 16th next fall. We probably won't know for sure until around June when the school board posts the schedule for next year. Nonetheless, great job of stepping up to the plate and heading it up!!

You should know better Larry, where else could I get the truck and/or the Monty a free wash job (provided the balloon launchers can at some point get halfway accurate in their aiming???). Actually, if you review the dates, the rally has been kicked back a week from when it was scheduled in the previous years. when we re-reinitiated the really in 2008 (Headed up by Salle Wilson (Vabluebird) and assisted by us) the dates were Aug 4th - Aug 7th. In 2009 it was Aug 6th - Aug 9th. In 2010 it was Aug 11th - Aug 15th and last year was Aug 10th - Aug 14th. That one week lag for this years planned rally kicks the rally back into the school year. It may have been unavoidable due to the beach schedules, but in previous years the reason it was on the first or second weekend of August was specifically to allow for younger families with children to attend. If we can attend we will be there, unfortunately the public school schedule is something we have no control over, yet must adhere to.

Nothing to be sorry about Jim, that is exactly what I figured, anything before that and the beach reservations at all campgrounds are still going strong. Hopefully, if we can't make it this year, whoever heads it up next year will take the school year into account and schedule a little earlier.

Good idea Mike, but youngest one is smarter than I am, honors student and they have to be in class the first day because they are fortunate enough to have homework over the summer and it is due when school starts, go figure!! Although home-schooling at the Mid-Atlantic rally would be very math and geometry intensive, including but not limited to: trajectories of water balloons, velocity, gravity effects, acceleration at launch point, heck, even calculus would even be required to figure out why the launchers never seem to hit their targets??????

Hi
We really enjoyed the last one in Marion.
But at this time we are planning on being in Main or Canada in August.
