Slide adjustment
I need some advice.
I need to have my kitchen slide (3400) to raise a little higher when it start to come in.
The other slides are OK, as soon as they start to come in, they start to raise off the floor.
We put down a new floor and had to put 1/4" plywood underlayment in.
Thanks

Carlson,
The man you need to talk to is MIMF. He is an honorary member of the MOC. He can fix things that have to do with slides. He used to work for Lippert. Still hangs around this formum helping out when and where he can. Post you problem to his attention and sit back and wait for his answer. Which there is usually not too long of a wait.

Check the Lippert manual that came in the Montana. It gives an excellent description of all slide adjustments.

When you make the adjustments you may find the slide hasn't moved, just the bolts and/or nuts moved. MIMF showed me how to do this while at the Minden rally a few years ago. First move the slide out 1/3 to 1/2 way. Make the adjustments. Then rock the heck out of that slide to get it to move to the new adjustment locations. Then batten 'er down and test it for fit.

Steve,
Thanks for the info.
I adjusted then had my wife move the slide in and out a little so it settled onto the adjustment bolt.
I sent MIMF a PM about the kitchen adjustment, as I still need it to rise a little more when it first opens.
Thanks Again

Michael,
Good Point
Here it is and reply from Lippett about the slickers Dale mentioned.
Carlson,
It would make sense that it may interfere with the flooring under the reefer because, that would be the heaviest end of the room.
I do not know if what I am about to suggest will work but, one thing that could possibly be done is to loosen the kick plate on the bottom of the room just above the main floor of the coach. Then, add a roller to the bottom side of the slide room that sets on the main floor to support the slide and not allow interence to the main floor.
Another option would be to use Slide room slickers that can be purchased from Lippert Components. They are designed to lay on the floor at the end of the slide room when it is in the extended position. Then, as the slide moves in, it will slide along the top of the slicker to the end of the stroke while protecting the floor covering.
Other than those 2 ideas, I have no other suggestions.
Let me know how it turns out.
Thanks,
Dale (MIMF)

Carlson, we use the slickers to avoid those dirt or grease marks the wheels sometimes make on the carpets. They might be worth a try for your purpose. Someone here on MOC made their own from those desk chair pads. You could try that more cheaply than the slickers to see if it solves your problem. Just a thought.
