I think you will find some tiny screws that secure the glass cover. In your photo - look on the right and left ends of the narrow slots where your control buttons are.
Then the glass should slide up and off. Once the glass is off - look for 4 screws on the face - 2 left and 2 on the right. Grab the fireplace in the slots and pull forward.
My fireplace was difficult to pull out because the rough opening in the wood was extremely tight to the sheet metal box (back side of the fireplace). So much so that the screw heads on top of the back box were digging into the wood header. I really had to pull HARD. Most people here - the fireplace comes out easy. I just wanted to let you know that mine was b-witch to get out.
