Mark & Gina 2022 Montana HC 295RL
Hi, everyone!
We recently purchased our fiver and have taken it out a couple of times as part of the "shakedown" phase and to test out our mobile office setup (Mark has worked from home for years; now taking that to a new level). So far, so good; only a few fit and finish items, which the dealership has already corrected. Next step is to replace the OEM tires and add a few other homey mods to make it our own.
Our eventual goal (within the next 10-12 months) is to transition to full time RV life. We've lived in northeast FL since 1993 and plan to relocate a little further south, likely orbiting between Sebastian Inlet and Pompano Beach on the Atlantic coast. Better scuba diving down that way , plus we will be closer to our daughter who is a student at FIU. We also enjoy spending time in the Keys, so that will make for a much shorter trip.
Looking forward to visiting and contributing here often!
Mark & Gina

Welcome to the forums and it sounds like you've got your plans in good order. Wishing you the best and happy camping.
FYI, my wife and I worked from camper all last year, traveled form Upper Michigan to South Carolina (our home is in Indiana), so we'd pass by every now and then, check things out a couple days, and keep moving.
I retired in January 2022 and the wife is still working from camper. As I'm writing this, we are near Charlotte, North Carolina right now. We've got a half dozen campgrounds reserved in Indiana over the next few months, then heading back to North Carolina in August for a campground host gig. We thinking of hanging around in South Carolina or Georgia for a few months after that and want to stay away from Indiana Cold this year.
Your plan is very do-able and sounds like you've got a LOT of really great adventures ahead of you. Hey! Who says you can't have "an office with great view!"

Welcome to the family. Lots of good info here! It's nice to hear a new Monty owner open with positive comments regarding their new rig. And it sounds like you have good dealership that takes care of their customers. I'm super jealous that you get to RV in the Keys! I've spent a lot of time down there and absolutely love it! Unfortunately I'm in Calif and still working so not in the cards for me. Be sure to share some pics

Welcome aboard! You've got a very nice floor plan. Before I retired I worked many hours at the dining table on short road trips. Now...no more work mess. Safe travels!

Congratulations and welcome
Just curious, what were the OEM tires they put on your rig?
And what tires do you plan on relaxing them with?

Potential replacement tires

Thanks for the warm welcome(s)!
OEM tires are the dreaded Rainiers, and based on the accounts posted in the Tires forum, are due to explode any day now... One of the first things the dealer tech said to me during our walk-thru was, "Plan to replace these within 12 months." I think I will move a little faster than that.
I'm still researching replacements, but at the moment, a Tire Outlet near me has a set of Carlisle 14 ply tires (CSL 16 ST235/80R16) that might work.

Carlisle or Sailun will be a good choice.

Mark and Gina-- If you want to go a little more expensive than the Carlisle or Sailun may I suggest the Goodyear G614. It is what I've been running on our Monte since it came off the dealers lot. When we bought ours it had the "China Bombs" on it and I told the dealer the unit was not going off the lot till he put on the Goodyear G614's. He resisted a little and we finally came to an agreement on what I would pay extra for them and I've had them on the unit now since 2014 and am on our second or possibly third set I don't recall but they are excellent and wear extremely well. They are made here in the US and easy to find if needed in an emergency. Good luck and be safe out there!

That sounds wonderful. I have worked from him home for 40 years. The difference is I can’t take my work with me.
Enjoy

Welcome and congratulations on your new Montana. I’m just getting ready to replace the factory original Sailun G-rated on our 2017 MS3811. I plan to go back with the same Sailun S637 model.

Welcome aboard and howdy from the Sarasota area of FL. We bought the same unit this year. Not to freak you but we had several initial problems. Inverter did not work, kitchen slide sticking, autolevel not working, etc. Working through them all and hopefully all good for our three month exit out of FL! Also got rid of the Raniers and moved up to Saliuns. Keep in touch and safe/fun travels!

Welcome to the forum and hope you have many happy years in your HC. Make sure your wheels are stamped 110 psi. We have had Goodyear 614’s and Sailun’s. Both have been good tires for us.
