Awning Track Repair
Last weekend I did the main awning track repair. I removed the stripped out screws and replaced them with expanding rivets.

Looks great! Did you seal the holes where the mandrels break off?

No, there's a plastic cover that slides into the track and covers all of the rivet heads.

That's nice, there's no cover on ours. Begs the question "was there supposed to be?"

Ours has it. If it's missing I highly recommend this:

Just had to replace a section on the rear of ours. Read the review from NAA60512. It's spot on.

Thanks! Now I'm not sure it is missing... when I was replacing an arm assembly I thought I remember seeing the screw heads. Can't really tell from the ground but looks like the ends are covered. Bad enough to not remember things that are, but to remember things that aren't? Oh well, eventually I'll get up there and take a closer look to be sure. Now if I can remember the rivets for when my tracks come loose!

So, I may have missed this one but by the way you typed this it sounds like this is a thing that's happened to lot of people. I know I have one screw thats broken. When standing and looking at the main door side awning, the right most screw is broken. I'm not sure how this happened there is no damage to the awning, but the screw is only being held in place by some sealant and I noticed it this year when I was waxing and detailing the unit. I would send a picture but its 0340 AM!!!
So is this a common repair? 2017 3791RD.
Thanks

I won't say common but the awning track screws are installed in the filon siding with no backer plate so the 1/8" luan is the only thing holding the screws. About 90% of my awning screws were loose. My awning had come loose from the side of the camper in two places.
