80 amp cb
Hi,
I know this is an old question.
I just got a 80 amp cb to replace the one on my had. system.
can some one please tell me where the hook ups are besides the main 12 volt
studs. looks like the original has extra 14 g. wires

I’m assuming you’re talking about the breakers in the generator compartment. Follow the large wire back from the pump. There should be a 50A breaker on that wire with a short jumper to the other breaker with all the small wires on it. You want to replace the one with only the pump wires.

Per the pics above there should be two of those circuit breakers. Make sure to get the one to the pump. And the wire to the pump should be more like an 8 gauge wire.

The lower wire that drops down into the storage bay (from the CB) is the one that connects to the slide hydraulic pump in my picture.
There are several different threads on installing an 80 amp CB. Here are the ones I followed:

80 amp breaker
Maybe I was lucky, but my old 50 amp breaker was in plain view right behind the battery, easy access. I disconnected the battery, unhooked wires on the breaker, used the same mounting screws on the new breaker, and put the wires back just as they were on the old one. The wire ring connectors fit the new poles perfect. I don’t know nuthin bout birthin no electricity - but this was easy.

Glad we cleared up the 80 amp CB to MEAN "CIRCUIT BREAKER"... for a while there I though you were referring to CB meaning "radio". LOL

Do it this way. Just be sure to replace the one that has the large wire going to the hydraulic pump.

80 amp circuit breaker
It took almost a year for my "OEM" 50 amp breaker (main breaker?) to trip for the first time. That was a few days after Christmas and I started searching the forum for answers and the 80 amp circuit breaker was a topic - so I replaced my 50 amp (main?) breaker. I guess I did not realize that there was a second breaker associated with the hydraulic pump. I just opened the compartment door and I saw the 50 amp breaker directly behind the battery, and this is the one that had tripped on me...I thought "Shezaam - thar it is!"
When I get home tonight I will take a closer look, trace the wires to see if I can locate another breaker for the hydraulic pump. Will it be a similar size/ similar looking breaker?
I was setting up the camper in a cold rain after Christmas when the thing tripped and no slideouts would work. I had no idea what was wrong. I called Lippert and the guy said "find the reset button on the breaker"...I had no idea what he meant. I found the "black thing" behind the battery and started feeling around it looking for a button to push. Evidently my finger found the reset blade-button because things started to work. I had no idea what I had done - but it worked. That is when I started reading up on it.

After the forum recommendations, I installed the 80 amp Circ Brkr for the pump this past week. Slides work great now; no more intermittent action. Thanks

Hi Guys, I need a little help on this breaker issue. I have been looking for an 80 amp auto reset breaker and can't seem to find one with the same size "lugs" as the 50 amp.Any suggestions as to a good source for the breaker? Should I be looking for the same size lugs or with the larger breaker are the lugs just larger? If so, then it looks like I would need to put new ends on the wires. I am thinking that the breaker should be an auto reset vs a manual reset. Am I correct in that thinking. Other thoughts?

Thanks for the reply, I will order from Amazon, but am unsure about the size of the lugs on the 80 amp one suggested and whether or not it would be necessary to opt for an "auto" reset breaker vs the manual reset? Any comments or recommendations?
