Replace bath swivel door
Hi, we have a 2018 3791RD. Love it !!! The bathroom swievel door has been troublesome however. We are considering replacing it with a pleated fold door. Has anyone done that?
Thanks, Art

Sounds like it should work. We have a 3720 RL and before we would accept it from the dealer we had them take the swivel mechanism off and put hindges on like a regular door and it opens toward the toilet. Quite a number of others have now done that and I haven't heard of anyone who wasn't happy with the mod.

Did the mod back to a regular hinged door after good reviews from Dick.
Would never consider changing it back even though we kept the hardware.

On some models that hinge keeps you from using the bathroom without putting the slide out. Since we want to use the bathroom when on the road for, some of us, it had to go.

We've still got the pivot door, though I'm not in love with it.
When you say it's become troublesome, what do you mean? Twice in the two months I've had mine I've needed to adjust the roller on top. If it jiggles loose it won't latch properly.
It's a very simple fix once you know how to do it. The bolt slides out the back side of the bracket on top of the door. You may need to loosen the nut above the bracket if it's still tight. Once that's off you can slide the top roller out and put the bolt back into it at the proper length. Remount the roller, pop the bolt back into the bracket, tighten the nut and you're good.
First time took me a few mins because I was too lazy (aka stupid) to get a step stool to look on top of the door. 2nd adjustment took seconds.
...the fact that I've had to adjust this twice in two months is a different issue.
Hope that helps.

Sounds like threadlocker is needed for this door.

We are thinking of going with regular hinges as well. We have a 2016 and it has given us nothing but trouble. It’s gotten so bad that now the bolt mechanism is stripped. Is there any place online we can replace these parts?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I attached (I hope) a picture of a previous thread, how I dealt with mine. The problem is that the threads in that roller mechanism carry the weight of the door and must turn every time the door opens and closes. It eventually strips out. I installed a bolt from the top down after drilling out the threads in the roller mechanism. Because of clearances you likely have to drill a hole in the top of the door to allow room for a Bolt head.

We are going to do the regular hinges also. The current design just does not work in the long term. We are full-time and so lots of use. DW dislikes the whole door.

Tell the DW that you can take down the complete door and replace it with a multi-colored beaded curtain, lol. I bet she would then LOVE that door.
I do plan on converting mine to the standard hinge style door before the 1st use this springtime.

YOU tell her that! LOL!
Actually, she would probably like the beaded curtain - she IS an old hippy! Well, I didn't mean "old"!

I have the same door in my 381th and have been thinking of converting it to a slider. There is room in the wall along side the toilet on mine.

Could you post a few pics of this mod? I'm interested.

I'd like to see the pictures to see how the hinges go on the door frame. Please post pics?

We are still in the research phase of our purchase but have looked at several different Montana models with the swivel doors. We already know by looking at them that we don't like them. We walked out of several models when seeing them. Good to know they can be changed to regular hinges pretty easily. Thanks for sharing the information.
