batteries not charging
Montana HC 343RL 5er. My batteries no not charge. Have had a situation over a while where the lights dim down some and then come back up. Checked battery and had 13+ volts so technician said all was well??? Now the batteries are down to under 10 volts and nothing works. Checked output volts on converter (Why did they put it there??) Had 5.95 volts. I thought the converter was bad so proceeded to get the darn thing out and before finding a new one plugged it in on my workbench and it putout 13.45 volts???? Now I am lost. What do I look for now? Is there a circuit breaker between the converter, fuse box and batery to look at? Some one out there much smareer than I on this subject please help. On here or my email addy, (emonnie@zoominternet.net)
Thanks much.

When is the last time you fully charged batteries? How old are they? When is the last time you added water? I suggest you go and get a load test done on your batteries to see if they will hold the charge.

Have to agree with Lenny. It sounds like the batteries are low or not accepting a charge especially since you pulled the converter and tested it on your bench and it tested good. The units do not come with a battery installed from Keystone and your dealer furnishes the battery/s before selling it to you the customer. He may have gotten some old batteries to install in your unit. My dealer installed two batteries in each unit and I had one go bad less than 6 months after purchasing the unit. I took the battery back to the dealer and he replaced it at no charge. Check you battery and see if it truly is holding a charge

Be very wary. After a battery voltage has dropped below 12v, it could fail for good sooner than later. This battery now has a much shorter expected life span because of this. A good working battery should measure well over 12.5 volts. Lower than that and one should be able to recharge it. When recharging, the voltage should be well above 13 volts (like when being recharged in the RV and shore power is connected or when connected to your vehicle and the trailer cord is connected to your tow vehicle).
I hope your battery problem is solved soon.

You should have 12.73 volts when fully charged and no load on the battery. 12.05 is only about a 45% charge.
