I think you are finding carpet and pad staples/nails due to the wheels on the bottom of the bed moving the carpet back and forth. The subfloor is nailed to the steel frame in the gooseneck area using special nails. If you look at the underside of the floor in the passthrough, you may see a couple that missed the steel tubes. I have several like that! You may want to look at the underside of the bedframe near the foot on each side to make sure the wheels are still there. I lost one on one side and the other side was ready to fall off as they used short metal screws instead of much longer wood screws when mine was built. John
