Solar installation cable routing question
So I am going to install a simple 160w Go Power! (expandable for future needs) system for keeping my 2-6v golf cart batteries charged during storage in southern Utah.
My question, is where the heck do you feed the cable down through the roof? I am assuming it doesn't have to go to the battery box at the front of the trailer, just to the area behind the electrical service center in the toilet closet, to tap into a hot battery wire in there?

Not familiar with your floor plan, but with our 3665, I cut a panel in the wall under the bathroom sink and fished the cables down from the roof through the dead space made by the curved wall in the bedroom and the bathroom medicine cab. & sink. From there, down to the basement and through the forward bulkhead to the solar charger & batteries. I must have checked measurements at least twenty times before actually drilling through the roof, but it all worked out.
Some have put the cables down a vent pipe and then out before there would be water, but I opted to make my own way.

I run mine down the gray water vent pipe. For me that was the best way to get to the foward compartment. . I only needed to run a couple 10 ga. wires.

Wait...You mean alongside the vent pipe or directly down it? If alongside, how did you get the wire to follow it? If inside, how did you exit it?

Down the inside. Pull the cap off and run it down put cap back on. On the lower end just drill a hole a little larger then the cable and after you have done what you need to do just silicon the hole where the cable comes out. This is a dry vent so no liquid is up there. You can feed the cable from the bottom which is a little easier.. Mine comes out in the over head of the cargo bay..

Go Power has a video on their web site for a typical installation which helped me a lot. Ran the solar lines down thru the refrigerator vent. Keeps the whole process nice and simple.

On our 3400RL we ran it down thru the pantry. That was because we ran 2ga wire to the roof. If you are using smaller wire you can use the vent pipe.
