Update on weird tow/haul glitch
Well, no codes were logged. Excellent dealer in Prescott, Az in Galpin Ford. They verified that manual does say that cruise control shouldn't be used with tow/haul, at least on the 2012 and I would assume other years. Chevy/Ram, who knows guys/gals! My truck really needed a de-carb service. And I had them replace all fuel filters as well as rear diff and transmission fluid exchange as extra assurance. If you remember on another post, I made comment of not seeing the exhaust cleaning message since the reprogramming for emissions. I did see one driving truck solo down out of manitou springs when we took it to visit friends there. And I have never seen the truck getting in the 20 mpg range solo since it was a few months old. WELL, after the vivit to Galpin, the truck was really quick to start, ran very well barely touching the pedal in town, and seemed to have a re-birth. Saw 26 mpg logged driving 45-50 mph on mostly level terrain heading upslope back to I40. Saw 18-20 in more upslope sections. Of course, that dropped to 16.7 on I40 with the continual uphill battle to 7000 ft at 73-74 mph...but it wasn't 10!! SO, I will conclude that I had a case where the computer didn't play nice between cc and t/h! Now, I am lusting bigtime over the exhaust braking ad on to the new ford trucks. Maybe it is time to install the newly released BDdiesel exhaust brake electronics that does what the new trucks do... happy john
