TV wireing
Hi there fellow MOC's, I'm having a problem with the TV wiring & thought I would ask you folks before I go back to the dealer. First off we have a 2015 3160RL with the outside entertainment center along with the bedroom & living room TV's. With the coach antenna up & booster on, the TV in the bedroom will receive channels that the TV's in the living room nor the outside entertainment center will receive. I have tried to manually tune in the other channels but with no luck. Also, if hooked up to cable in the campground, booster off, the bedroom TV is clear as a bell but the other 2 are fuzzy on most channels.
Am I missing something? This ain't my first rodeo but I have never had this problem before & this is our first Montana. I would be thankful for any incite you can give me.
Wendell & Sharon

The coax connectors Keystone use have given some of us fits. Get some good compression ends and start swapping out. Solved many a problems for me and many others on this forum. Jim

Our rig is older, but on ours there's a jumper near the booster with three ways to connect it. One way worked well with cable but not the antenna and the other set up worked well with the antenna and for us the third way didn't work for anything.

I bought the tool and the compression ends at Lowe's but assume most anywhere would have them. Jim

I have the same issue with the Bedroom TV getting OTA channels that the living room TV will not find. The TV in the bedroom is connected to the booster/switch, so it makes a little sense that it is better, but The connectors that Keystone used are none optimal. I also find that the cable they used looks more like RG-59 than RG-6. At least the connector on the roof antenna is not RG-6 on my rig.

My guess is that some where in the wall near the booster there is a splitter in the line, splitting the signal between the LR TV and the Basement connection. That splitter cuts the signal in half, so it stands to reason the the BR TV has a stronger signal than either the LR or basement.

Just picked up our Big Sky from the factory service center. One of our issues was television reception. On ours, the antenna was fine, but my cable reception was too weak to use. I had to put a splitter in the convenience center and hook cable up thru the satellite connections. The service center ended up replacing some of the connectors and that fixed our problem. I had already removed all the wall plates and tightened the connectors on the back. Every one of them were loose!

Thank's for all your thoughts & tips. I picked up a compression tool & the ends today. We are headed out to a local park tomorrow and I plan on spending a good portion of the day working on the problem. I set a service apt. up with the dealer to take care of a list of small things that need to be addressed but that's about 3 weeks out. Again, Thanks for the help, I can see that this forum is going to be a huge help for info & tips.

it is RG59 that montana uses...not RG6 but you still should get good reception on all of the TVs.

When on park cable be certain the amplifier switch is OFF--the light not on. Check the short wire from the amplifier power supply to the splitter and the splitter itself. That is where your issue is.
