fireplace problems
We have a new 2015 3711FL and are trying to work out a few issues with it. We have been surprised at the differences between it and our 2010 Montana. The fireplace was previously working but now will not turn on, either with the remote or manually. The info book talks about unplugging for 5 minutes but we can't find the plug. Do you have to pull out the entire unit? It doesnt appe to want to slide out easily. Any help available from someone?

Hi Larry, just turn off the breaker, that will do the same thing.

I will look tonight when i get home, but I believe the plug was in the cabinet to the right or left of the fireplace

Pretty sure the plug will be behind your fireplace but as Ozz said turn off the breaker or unpluging the whole trailer will do the reset if that is the problem.

On ours there are four screws holding it in and the plug is behind it. I'd take Ozz's advice (actually I always do) and use the breaker.

You might want to remove it anyhow and see what is behind it. Left over "stuff" from construction or loose connections can cause you problems later.

Thanks for all of the great advice. This is a travel day so hopefully all will be well when we hook up again. If not, we will pursue some of the other suggestions.

You may also have to do like I have had too a few times with my 2012 is pull the fireplace out (no big deal) 4 screws pull it out then unplug it from the wall behind and turn it upside down take the bottom panel off(a bunch of little screws) and Vacuum out all dust, cat hair etc... it clogs up the sensors and shut the fireplace down and while you are in there tighten all the wires in there, a few of mine were loose the first time i did it

You never know what you are going to find when you remove the fireplace. Mine had the subwoofer for the sound system sitting behind it. My unit plugged in an outlet behind the fireplace. As has been stated there are/or should be four screws holding it in place one in each corner, not easy to see unless you are looking closely.
Also as bigskyjimmy said remove the bottom plate and check all the wiring, there have been many instances of problems there and some have almost resulted in fires because they were not tight, particularly where the 120V is attached to the terminal block in the fireplace.
First thing make sure you have power to the outlet the fireplace plugs into, it may have thrown the breaker in the main panel but should be on it's own circuit with nothing else on that circuit.
Our unit is a Dimplex, we have a similar unit in our S&B and have had zero problems with either. But the one in the house will not run if the batteries are dead in the remote as that is the only way it can be turned on/off.
Good luck

We had to remove our fireplace to replace some of the light bulbs that had burned out. It's not difficult, as stated, four screws hold it in. What surprised us was the amount of dust and dirt that had accumulated behind the unit. Even without a reason to pull the unit, it may be an advantage add pulling and cleaning behind the fireplace to your periodic maintenance list.

I have a 2008 324RLQ and see no dedicated breaker for the fireplace. It was working then all of a sudden stopped and loss all AC power to all the outlets within the fireplace slide out. Any suggestions?

Breaker, Breaker. Check all the breakers. The breaker may be in a half-way position. You will need to flick the breaker of and on a couple of times in order to rest it. If it is on or off, it will feel firm. If it is in the half-way mode, it will be a little lose, wabbles slightly. If that fails, get a circuit sensor to see if you have any power feeding the slide. Hope that helps.
