Cleaning the rubber roof
What do you clean your roof with. Have been using gone in 30 Seconds, but now being told this is not good for the roof. Dealer said to use spic and span.

We were told at the Fall Rally last year to use Dawn Blue and water on it! That's what I've use for the past few years and it works great as long as you use a good brush and do a little at a time. Don't try to do the whole thing at once just about a four foot section at a time! If I run into some area that is a little more dirt and deep down into the rubber, I use some Awesome in the bucket or spray it on directly then scrub and rinse!

I use ~1/2 cup liquid Spic-N-Span and ~1/2 cup Murphy's Oil Soap in warm water. Have used this method on all of my rv's with EPDM rubber roof material. Does a good job cleaning without damaging the roof. You will have to wash the rest of the rig when finished with the roof. Tim

Besides using Dawn, I went to Lowes and got a concrete finishing broom. It has very stiff bristles and worked well for getting the roof clean.

Just remember what ever you use will run down the sides of the RV...so don't use anything that will remove wax.

one cup of bleach to four gallons of water and SimpleGreen has worked very well for me. As others have stated though, I always have to wash the sides due to run-off.

They had and article in a RV magazine recently where they used Murphy's Oil Soap and a sponge mop. Working on 3 square ft area at a time. They said using Murphy's Oil Soap, you will not need to spray any additional protective sprays afterwards.

Our neighbor in Florida had friend who fell off the roof of an Rv while washing it.Let me say he will never be Camping again. Think long and hard before you get up on that soapy roof.Rich has the right Idea $75 will not buy a tank of fuel.
I might add the major objective is to remove the gray oxidation that runs down the sides not to remove every blemish Also you gentlemen who use bleech it can wipe out a lawn and a pair of jeans been their done that!
