What's a good Phantom load #
When boon docking, at night, we leave the stereo and the satellite controller on to record late night shows, and charge two cell phones. We have the TV, other satellite controller, antenna controller and most other things disconnected. We're pulling 7.5-7.7amps. Is that about average for what we are doing or should I be looking for something else I can disconnect. What we are drawing and what we normally do in the daylight isn't currently a problem for us as long as we get reasonable sun during the day. Just wondering what's a good night time number.

Dick, we have the same things running at night and average about 7 amps.

We are kind of power hogs so we feel anything under 10 amps total, inverter and 12 volt, is ok for us. Sounds like you're doing good.

When our 3402 is "at rest" we draw @ 2 amps on one leg and 3 or 4 on the other. Can see the PT 50 C flashing outside the window and the A/C just went off it reads 1 map on leg one and 3 maps on leg two.

Dick,
I "ASSUME" you are referencing amperage reading on 12volts. Because 7 amps on 120 volts = 840 watts and on 12 volts 840 watts = 70 amps of current draw. Watts = Amperage times voltage.
I would say that is about accurate on 12 volts.
You have one option. That is to put a digital 120 volt timer on the TV, SAT receiver circuit and have it shut after your late night recordings are done. This way you only draw their power when it is needed. I got one at Lowes for about $13 and it has a 30 day memory. Mine is made by GE. You can manually turn it off and on also.
Leaving your inverter on all night will draw some idling power but you have to live with that.

Thanks john. The timer's not a bad idea.
