Learning new stuff about my Monty
After spending several days on our first camping trip in our new Monty, we are learning a bunch of stuff we didn't know. We are camping with a group of experienced M.O.C members and they are teaching us a lot.
However, the big ah-ha was finding out why I kept getting grey water coming out the discharge pipe when I had all the valves in the convenience center closed. 7.3Ford showed me that I have another grey water tank just for the kitchen sink and it's handle was under the wheel well and it was open. I guess the PDI tech either forgot to show us, or didn't know the 3402RL was setup that way.

I think dealers sign a contract to NOT show customers the galley dump handle. But at least most dealers leave it open so the customers they forgot to show it to will figure it out. I found mine by using the MOC forum as I was in the same boat.

Which is a great testimonial as to why all and particularly new members of the MOC should try to make plans to attend one of the regional or national rallies. There is much information to be learned and the best part is meeting the ever-helpful members of this forum. OF course, there is also the drawback that when you see something that another member has modded on their rig and you incorporate it on your rig, there is that ever lightening feeling on the wallet, but it is always worth it!!

The other drawback is seeing all the new Montanas and wanting one.
However those drawbacks are vastly outweighed by the fun, food, camaraderie and educational aspects. Every Montana owner should attend at least one Fall Rally!

It is an ongoing educational experience. After nearly a year with my Montana I still learn new things. Regional rallies are fun, too.

This forum is also a great resource. I knew next to nothing about large campers when I joined the forum and many people here helped me and still do help me to gain more knowledge and confidence everyday.

One time I went to open the galley tank and the handle came out with it. It has been open ever since. I looked into fixing it but cutting into the under belly to get to it seemed more than I wanted to take on. Maybe another day. I always wondered why such important pieces of your RV are made so cheap.
