Tools for the Road
I know we all have tools with us on the road. But our recent trip proved I was missing a few. Here is a list of some that I know I will have in the future:
Metric/English Wrenches
Metric/English Sockets (1/4", 3/8", 1/2")
Metric/English Allen Wrenches
Hammer
BF Hammer
Rubber Mallet
Soldering Iron
Solder
Electrical Test Meter
Shrink Tubing
Heat gun
Small pieces of plexiglass to form brackets (like to hold cameras)
Screwdrivers (Square Drive, Phillips, Straight, Torx, Micro)
Faucet Wrench
Wire Stripper
Wire Connectors
Crimp Tool
Pop Rivet Tool
Rivets
Electrical Tape
100 MPH Tape (Duct Tape)
Spare wire
TV Cable Tools
Cordless Drill
Drills
Bits and sockets for drill
Assorted bolts, nuts, washers, screws
Air Compressor
Torque Wrench (Socket for wheels, water heater, suspension)
Grease Gun and grease
Dremel Tool
Now, I look forward to seeing what I missed.

Based on your experience I bought the tool for my cordless drill to turn the stabilizer jack.

Ron, I carry a tone and probe/amplifier like this: http://www.amazon.com/Fluke-Networks...ref=pd_cp_hi_0
It not only helps tracing coax but I have also used it to locate electrical cable runs. Jim

No matter what you carry with you, you will quickly discover that you need what you don't have! Walmart, Harbor Freight, Lowes, Home Depot and the Auto Parts Store of your choice are your friend!! That is exactly why when I go somewhere that I end up with another tool that I know I have many of at home. Wonder if it is cheaper on fuel usage not carrying anything and buying what you need at that time versus carrying 16,000 pound if tools that you might need??

Bottle Jack big enough to lift the truck or trailer to go with the stands already mentioned. Also, Tow strap for that eventual tug you or someone might need.

Bubble gum and shoe string for when all else fails. Oh, and soap to wash the mouth out when you are on the side of the road and THEN remember the tool you forgot...Just sayin'

Forgot the folding shovel to level sand/dirt/gravel spots. Also forgot the tool chest on wheels to tow behind the Monty.

I just park next to John Kohl when I can. He has everything and it keeps the weight down in my Monte.

Someone a while back suggested the waterproof metallic backed tape. I got some and have already used it. Great stuff for bad times.

When I was fulltiming, I carried two bottle jacks, a 3-ton and an 8-ton. I needed to use both on several occasions. Useful in doing shackle jobs (I did 4, two on my two rigs and two in others).

Where did you find it? I have been looking for one of these without luck. I have a 2009 3400.

I had the good fortune to be parked next to John at the CPRR and forgot a few tools, so I second that. We are heading to Alaska, God willing, next year and just getting a start on what I need to carry.
