Spiders and Bug Prevention

I was wondering what most of you do for the prevention of spiders and bugs in and around your RV? With summer here in Texas I have noticed a increase in spider activity, which actually resulted in two bites on my leg. Seems like the shower and bathroom are common areas for spiders.

I usually spray outdoors around the entry points, but have not done anything inside due to the small amount of space.

Please share anything you have had success with.

Thanks!

EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas right?...does that include the Spiders?? if so I would MOVE..but seriously I have used Ortho home defense and did like you and sprayed "a line of Death" around the entry points and it has worked for me

I, too, use a standard home defense spray that can be purchased almost anywhere. Just spray around the floor at entry and the base of the walls every few weeks. No bug problems.

Same for us. Spray against the wall all around the rig just like a professional would do.

We use the Black Flag Bombs. I set one off inside before we get ready to leave and it kills anything in the trailer. Just push the button and get out.
We pick them up at Walmart in the grocery Dept. three or four in a box.
Leave the laundry chute open and it does the basement also.

Don't forget to spray up around tires, landing legs, and kingpin tripods. Had spider problems on boats in marina and bug guy told us they were all coming in on our dock lines. Started spraying those the spider problem went away. I spray the aforementioned spots on my Montana, plus some in the basement, and we never see spiders or bugs inside.

I, too, use the Ortho Home Defense. Around all floor to wall , cabinet to floor , all openings , periodically. Also spray outside openings , basement , jacks sewer connector , any thing that touches the ground , or any place a pest might find inviting. Works for us.

We do the spray around the tires, landing gear an stabilizers, as well as the electric cord and the water hose. Inside, we use an agricultural pesticide called Daemon. I spray all the base boards and under furniture. It will keep on killing for a year. Use it at home too, as it is relatively safe around pets and kids...although we never have kids visiting, so I guess it takes them out before they get here.....

We too use Ortho home defense. I usually spray the usual areas (wheels, landing gear and stabilizers) but sont forget to hit the power cable, sewer hose and the water hose. I have caught ants running up the hose and in the service bay and that is why I started on the hoses and power cables. If you are on a concrete pad then it is a simple matter to spray a protective ring around the rig plus the hoses and power cable.

I use a product through Amazon called "CY-KICK". For me, it has been a much stronger defense than the pre-mixed products at the Big Box stores. It creates a "Bug Armageddon" and is the only product I have found that takes care of scorpions.

Just remember one thing if you are using the BOMBS. Make sure ALL gas items are turned off. They have been known to cause fires.
