After reading this post, I was brave and took it upon myself to ask the boss if she knew yet what she was bringing for the dessert dish since it shows a ??? next to it. It took days to get the Hawaiian meatball commitment! All that I accomplished this time was to make myself out to be a bother to her, since her response was along the lines of "it will be decided before we show up at the pot luck!" I was smart enough to drop the subject, so my recommendation if you want to show something is to change the ??? to "pot luck dessert." I have learned my lesson and will not ask again.
