Got the storm shelter installed.
Our summer "Home Base" RV lot didn't have a tornado shelter. Being in Kansas and having dealt with four bouts of 60+Mph wind gusts this summer it was definitely a need. Here's what we did and what the site looks like now: http://s1221.photobucket.com/user/DQDick/story/20435#
The truck is sitting in the spot that a visiting RV would occupy and have access to full hookups.

That looks like my septic tank with a different top. If we lived there we would feel much better having a shelter like that

What an excellent idea for your location!!
I'll bet you feel a LOT better having it there for your safety.

Actually, if you could read the sign on the side of the truck you would see they are a septic tank company, they've just figured out a way to make more money from the same equipment. At least I didn't buy it from the other option, they made vaults for caskets

Jay, you have no idea how right you are. No decent neighborhood option. When we aren't here it won't be locked. All our neighbors are welcome.

Dick,
Is that your camper in the last picture? I know you said you have the Magnashade on the rear window, but it looks like you have the 2 slide windows covered too?

Yes you are correct. Since that end frequently points toward the sun we got all three. The pictures are ones I took in AZ and use for part of my greeting card business. The windows on both sides of the rig have awnings on them so we don't need shades there.

Great shelter. We pray you wasted your money and never need to use it. We've thought about putting one in back home, but we can't aford the cost of the blasting company to come in and blast all the Missouri rock it would take to make a hole big enough.

The same would have been true here, but we put it in the place where the old house stood before they tore it down.

Ozz you're exactly right. Joyce designs and I'm the construction labor. Then she paints and decorates.

Dick,
Great add but we hope and pray you and Joyce never need to use it and it becomes a nice wine cellar instead!
