New Folks
So happy to have discovered this board!
Husband and I are new converts from Class As to our first 5th Wheel - an '07 Mountaineer 342PHT.
We've owned the rig for about a month - and tomorrow are embarking on a 5 week trip. Us, two of our children, and the cat.
We took our fist trip in the rig last weekend and found out there is a steep learning curve going from 20 years in a Class A to a 5er.
I've been looking at this board for a month to try to get help - but there were NEVER any new posts Finally, somebody over at RV.net told me to register here so I could see the whole board . I'm glad to be able to actually see all the posts now
Thanks for having us!

Welcome! There are lots and lots of helpful folks here with years and years of experience. Ask any questions you have. The only dumb questions are the ones you didn't ask. All of us were first time 5th wheel and Montana folks once and some of our early posts are funny now, but panic time then. Hope you have a great 1st time out and hope we meet you down the road.

Welcome aboard. I also had Class A MH, from 1979 until this March. I traded for a new Montana, now I ask myself why I waited so long.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your 5er. One thing that came to mind when you told us what you bought, is it's 6 years old. One of the very hot topics here lately is tires gone bad. If there is anything that can ruin a good time on a vacation or just a get away is a blown tire and possible resulting damage it could cause. I would highly recommend that the tires be checked really good not just for inflation, but for wear, checking, bubbles, tread crowning, or any other defect you can find before heading out on a 5 week trip. There is also a date code on the tire that may look something like this: "2407" showing it was made in the twenty-fourth week of 2007. With this information you can see if they are original or have been replaced. Many suggest replacing the tires when they get to be over 5 or six years old.
Good luck and enjoy your unit. I'm sure you will love it.
