WINTER IS COMING
I know what the heck is this guy talking about!!!
When my friends, now is the time to think about where you want to be come SNOW TIME...
Many Many Montana owners winter in the Rio Grande Valley. For those that worry about Problems from across the BORDER, all has been very calm here, I know several Montana folk's held off coming down last year because they thought there would be or were problems.
I have been a Montana owner for years and then bought a stick house here in the Valley (Mission, TX) 1 mile from the Rio Grande River and Border.
I just want to tell those Montana owners looking for a great place to WINTER that the Rio Grande Valley - Mission/Mc Allen Texas are SAFE ALL IS WELL. So Make plans now for a nice winter with NO SNOW SHOVELS..
I have been inactive on the Forum for some time so I will tell you that OZ and MUDCHIEF will Vouch for me. MAKE YOUR PLANS AND IF YOU NEED SOME PARK NAMES OR LOCATIONS GET DROP ME A LINE.

John-- Great to hear from you again and good to see you're still concerned about us MOCrs! LOL We were just down there this last winter while we toured the Great Southwest starting at Quartzite and working our way back east. We have some fellow Nebraskans that Winter in Mission and had a great visit with them while we were in the area. We may have been real close to your s & b who knows! We had no problems while down there with any of the so mentioned problems and even made a couple of trips across the border while there and in Arizona with no problems even down below the Rio Grand. We're starting to plan next winters adventure and we just may be back in your area again because there was so much we missed seeing while down there. Take care and stay cool!

We winter near the border every year and see and hear of few problems. On the other hand the economies of particularly Arizona are dependent on the amount of money and people involved in border security so the problems will get magnified. I'm more worried camping near some of our major cities than along the border.

Three years ago, before the Montana, we spent the month of February in S. Padre Island. We had always spent a couple of winter weeks in Florida prior to that but wanted to give Texas a try. We averaged about 60 degrees and probably only had the Harley out 3 or 4 times. We did find food and lodging cheaper, but at the price of cooler temperatures. Progresso was the safer place to cross at that time, which we did several times and it was great. Other closer crossings closer to South Padre were reported to be not as safe generally at that time. I guess if I am going to tow my home that far I want some 80 degree temps.

John boy!! Got your message this morning early as we were headed out, glad you still like it there, also glad you aren't under one of those Mobil homes you used to own and rent out in the freezing weather, fixing frozen pipes.
Say hi to Christa for us. Just getting some grub in us, will try and call you tonight.

Great!!! Now some drug dealer who owns a Montana and belongs to the MOC will read this and know where to go next.
Hope all stays well down there all year round. Summer just started 2 days ago, so thinking about Winter with a long hot summer and fall coming up is tough. But many of y'all gotta think ahead. May all your travels and wherever you stay be calm and restful.

There seems to be a bit of interest in the Rio Grande Valley for the WINTER. GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT"S SAFE FOLK'S
I would be happy to assist any one the the MOC Members to very nice RV Community/Parks within the Valley. I would suggest that the Mission/Mc Allen area provides a great deal of facilities. Some of the best Hospitals and Medical facilities along with Restaurants shopping and fun things to do
Several nice Ranges, there are a lot of us in the Valley that injoy shooting with friends and there are four ranges in the Mission/Mc Allen area for everyone enjoyment.
Let me know if I can help.
Stay Travels My Friends
