NORCOLD 1210 SERIES
We have a 2011 Monty 3455SA unit with a Norcold 4-door refrigerator, model 1210 series.
The problem is durning the extreme hot weather here on the July 4th weekend, the unit went from A/C to LP while on the autommatic setting. Then while on the LP setting the unit went to a fault code of "LI" "oP", which is 'High temperature limit switch is open'
It requires the unit to be serviced by a techination. However, the soonest they came come out is 3-4 days. (unit sits on a perment site, not easy to move) I've tried unplugging the outside plug for 15-20 minutes to see if it would reset itself but that did not work.
Anyone have a suggestion on how I can reset the hugh limit switch or is this a motherboard issue ?
Thanks for any help.

I was having intermittent problems with my Dometic 4 door. Fault codes and switching to LP. I found the battery had gone bad and the DC was causing the problems. I installed a new battery and no more problems.
You may want to check your battery. Just a suggestion.

Papabeav, by the looks of that manual someone has finally published one that is worth more than the paper it is written on. By the looks of the manual on page 64 it can be reset if you have the resettable switch. But it also could be a loose wire or a disconnected wire on the circuit which should be easy to check. If you can get it reset and it faults again then sounds like a blockage of air flow or something causing 2 heating sources to be on at the same time.

Our Norcold 1210 Series went out of our 2012 3800RE 4 weeks ago. We had to pick it up 3 times to take it in to fix. Put new works in the 3rd time and then would only work on LP. Wanted us to bring in again and I got ahold of NO cold and they said they would get ahold of service tech and finally they sent out(believe it or not) someone from the service center and found out it was wired wrong. The tech said he wired it back just exactly like it was wired before. Maybe at the factory they are wiring these things wrong. Ours had only been used 3 months.

Apperantly, the tech who just went out to check on the failure of the unit has found that the "Higth Temp" switch was replaced at the dealer prior to out picking up the unit in 2011.
They will contact NOCOLD to see if there is a recall on the recalled switch.
I'll keep you informed. Thanks for all of the info you guys have supplied.

As a part of the recall the dealer installed a new high temp sensor. Once this sensor is tripped it is non re-settable. The red LED light on the module will light up. Norcold will not ship a new module to a end user, it must be ordered from a dealer and is tied to the units serial number. One could bypass the sensor, but that would defeat the safety protection.
The solution is to find out why it got hot enough to trip the sensor, perhaps fans are not cycling, or there is an air flow obstruction.

Okay, here's the skinny on repairing our Norcold refrigerator 1210.
After contacting Norcold several times, it was determined that the high-temp switch in our unit was replaced at Camping World prior to our picking up the unit, thus no recall of the switch was necessary.
However, Norcold sent a 15 page flowchart of steps to be followed before the high-temp switch could be reset. (I have a copy of the flowchart) After the necessary steps were followed, the high-temp was reset. Unit had to be checked over the next 24 hours to determine if everything was working fine. After 24 hours, the circuit board cover could be replaced & things returned to normal.
Only thing left to do is argue with Good Sam on the payment of repair bill under their insurance plan.
Thank goodness this did'nt happen on the road. How do they expect someone to go 3 weeks with no refrigerator in their unit ?
Anyway, thanks for the interest. Larry P
