Eastern Texas
As new Texans, we are interested if there are any rally's down this way. We live in the Tyler area and would like to meet some of our southern MOC members after we're settled.

The first saturday of every month the Dogwood Dutch Oven Cookers meeting at Tyler State Park at the BlackJack group circle.in Tyler TX. A demo is held at 10 AM saturday morning followed with a buffet lunch to sample what everyone has cooked.
Please stop by for food, fun and fellowship.
Cost to get into the state park (unless you buy the $60 annual pass - which is a real deal) but lunch is free (donations accepted)
There are five or six members have Montana trailers.

We are in east Texas and would be very interested in rally info in this area. Some day we will make it to Indiana or Arizonia rallies.

Ron and Terrie,
If there are not enough MOC'ers and not enough Rally's look into the Texas Boomers RV group. They don't care what type of RV you have, a pop-up or a Provost, or anything in between. They get together almost on a monthly basis for 3 day weekends (most of them work) throughout Texas. There are no dues, no commitments, just plain old fun. They have no scheduled meetings and no officers other than a wagon Master who has been doing that job for 10 years.
If you get down Galveston way, or want to know about any CG's in this area, give a holler. It's only a days drive from Tyler to Texas City/galveston area.
Edited: p.s., almost forgot. They have a get-to-gather Nov 4-6 in Tyler, Texas. Check out the web site. The only requirement for becoming a Texas Boomer is to attend one gathering. If you go over there, say HI for us. We cannot make this one.

Ron, Check out the Sweetheart Rally in Kerrville, Texas on Valentine weekend. We have been going for 5 years and have had wonderful times--all kinds of rigs--some Monty's. The rally is listed on the RV.net site. The organizers will post it in a few weeks so check out the site if you want an early Spring Texas Rally.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are really looking forward to meeting some of our fellow MOCers down in Texas. Many don't get to the Fall rally, which we have had the pleasure of attending now since 2004. We will keep our eye out with winter coming. Might be an influx of Montana Owners into the Lonestar State.

We can meet you folks somewhere, do some cookin', chat about some old times.
The folks with the Sweetheart Rally are a good bunch, we have attended a couple of their rallies in past years. We had a good time and the RV park was great.
On the chattin' about old times, we really enjoyed seeing you and Terrie last night. Dinner was great, company was even better.
As far as you 2 now living in Texas, you don't have to move to Texas to be Welcomed, but since you are here, Welcome to Texas. One more beautiful State in our Country to be RVing.
Steve

Steve -
It was a great meal. Perhaps you and Evelyn can join us in December over toward the Hill Country.
