R U sure it's a 6.4 and not a 6.0 liter diesel? I think the 6.4L began with the 2008 model year.

Hi, if it's a diesel, it's a 6 liter which had a lot of problems especially it's first year, 2003.

Be very cautious of the 03 6 liter diesel. A great majority of the early ones spent more time with the Dealer than with the owner.
Electronics, head gaskets, egrs, turbos, were some of the big headaches for theese early 6 liters.
If you find a 03 7.3 liter, a totally different story, these were a absolute trouble free diesel.

The carfax report showed a lot of electronic work being done plus it has a new high output turbo. It was just inspected and has new brakes, rotors, backing plates, exhaust, and tires. Can buy for 13,500 w/o trade. Thanks for the info, now I understand why all the elec work. Getting leary of this one now.

Stay away from early 6.0L PSD (2003 to 2005). Many of these engines had to be repurchased from the customers by Ford due to all the issues.

I had a mid to late 2004 and it had many of the first year 6.0 problems corrected. I now have a 2006 with the 6.0 and still have no problems. A friend of mine had the 2003 6.0 and he had all kinds of problems.
Just like everyone else is saying, I would stay away from the 2003 1st year 6.0 PSD. If it's had that much work done to it, then while you feel those problems may be corrected, you certainly don't want any unseen problems in the other areas after you buy it. I wouldn't risk it. You want to PREVENT or avoid problems in the first place.
The good news is this truck has near 160,000 miles on it or driven an average of 20,000 miles oer year. That's a good thing. It means it was driven a lot with some success.
