Well, the antenna is on the slide. I wasn't really happy with it but...
On the better quality AM/FM/SW receiver I have an S meter. It does make a mesurable difference on all bands and a huge difference on short wave. On the RCA Stereo it didn't seem to help at first, but over the weekend we had no fadeing, no loss of stereo and no loss of lock on a favorite fringe area statio we like, so, I guess it was worth the effort. As far as AM, well a antenna can't make up for a so - so receiver I guess. Here it is

While I was at it I have included a photo of the portable satellite antenna on its base. This is a .75meter (30inch) Winegard dish. This mount has survived 40 MPH winds and not fallen over. All the factory nuts were replaced with wing nuts, so it breaks down and folds flat in 10 or 15 minutes.
