Our first trip with new 3000rk!
Can't wait for the weekend. We get to try out our 2010 3000rk. We had a 2003 Jayco Eagle 305 we had also bought new but the kids are grown and gone now so we felt it was time to step up to a Montana. Living in the Mid-Atlantic has made it tough to even spend the night in the back yard this year so this is truly a maiden voyage! We will be staying at Tall Pines Harbour Campground in Sanford, Va. Great friendly & family campground. We have been going there for about 4-5 years. Owners are the best we have known. Just hope the rain holds off.......!!!!

Outstanding! Bon Voyage! Don't forget to crack a beer bottle on the hitch pin as you celebrate the departure! Save the champagne for the boats.
A 40 oz cracks a lot better than a smaller 12 oz. And don't hit it on the fiberglass because you might crack it. And don't use a beer can because they just smash and make a foamy mess. And finally, save a 6-pack for when you arrive at your first destination. (I recommend you set up BEFORE finishing the 6-pack).
I have set up in the rain before, it's no fun, but if it does, you'll be able to test the weather worthiness, plus it will help wash off the beer.

Congratulations on your new 3000RK! We just purchased a new 3000RK this past week. What name brand tires do you have? Are they Goodyear Marathons like mine? I have been reading some threads from members who have had Goodyear Marathons and I'm not very happy with this choice of tire they put on my trailer. Sounds like I should expect them to start blowing out by 15,000 miles or LESS! I've decided to buy a tire pressure monitor to check my tires. Don't mean to put a scare into you, but our tires haven't got a good track record. Mine are made in China with a 2008 date. Good luck.

I bought Goodyear Marathons as a replacement to the Missions that came with my rig because up until that time they were recommended by many others when I was not a member of the MOC. After joining, I have read of issues with them but I will hope for the best.
My Goodyear tires (made in China) are well within the trailer size and weight specifications, I monitor them at all times keeping their pressure at 80#, I make sure the trailer weight is never out of spec and drive no faster than 65MPH. I always try not to cut into curbs or driveways and try to avoid stressing them with sustained sharp turns especially when parking. Hopefully the only problems I have with my Goodyear Marathons is that they age gracefully until I replace them.

As far as tires go, it does have the Goodyear Marathons. The Jayco had them as well and I lost two of them over seven years. Seems there was a recall that I did not know about and the tires fell into that recall. Like some others have said, keep the speed at 65 and watch the tire pressure. Thanks to all for the good wishes on the first trip! The Jayco had a slide out leak the first trip and left with a roof leak up front. I feel confident this won't happen this time.

Our 2008 3000KR has Missions with over 10,000 miles. Only problem was when I ran over a truck mudflap. They were patched and plugged after that and are still going strong.
We love the 3000RK, good luck and Happy Campin'

Congrats on your 3000RK. We also bought that plan about 18 months ago. Been about 10K miles all trouble free. Great floorplan and great company. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we have. Welcome

Congratulations and welcome to the 3000RK club. I have had mine for 3 years and I had the travel trailer equivelant before this unit. I wouldn't have any other floor plan.
Happy Camping!

We have a 2008 3000rk and love it.. We had about 15,000 miles on the Mission tires.. 3 out of 4 had seperated. .. but I saw the problem before any of them blew apart.. That was in Lubbock, TX... Replace them with Goodrich TA.. so far so good.. been to St. George, UT.. now in Las Vegas.. will probably head up to Moab, Ut.. then head east toward Indiana .. before heading south back to TN...
Lots of nice country out here...

We're in St Charles, MO enjoying our first real trip in our new 2009 Montana 3605. We're pulling it with a 2007 GMC 2500 HD Diesel that works quite well. We're having a great time, meeting lots of neat people and don't want to go home!
