Bugs On Rig
Does anyone know of something to spray, put, etc., on the front of your rig to make removal of bugs easy? I have tried different types of waxes with no success. I have heard of spaying pam or siliconm but would like to know if anyone has some personal knowledge of what works. Tks, Xgboy

I have heard of using pam or vegetable oil. The easiest removal method is using bounce dryer sheets or similar in the early morning when the dew is still on the rig. You need to be very careful of using wax products, particularly if they come in contact with the graphics. I think the graphics manufacturer warns agains the use of wax.

As Bingo said, I use bounce sheets and water. It removes bugs the best way I've found so far.

It's dryer sheets for me! They don't even have to be new ones! They can be the old ones you've taken out of the dryer from the last batch of clothes. If you've let the bugs dry on for several days or weeks, it does take a little more "elbow grease" to take them off but they will come off! I've soaked them down with Dawn (the blue one) and water and let it set a little then used it and the dryer sheets and no problem at all with the bugs! Be sure to rinse thorougly!! The dryer sheets also put a little bit of a coating over the unit and protects it a little for the next time also.

The easiest way I've found that works well is to have it done by somebody else.

Best if you try to miss the bugs. I use Sprayway glass cleaner ammonia free to clean off the bugs. Wal-Mart has it. Blue and white spray can. I found out about Sprayway from a retired rv repairman who winters in our park in Texas. Follow the directions on the back of the can, it will foam up on contact. Best to apply when the bug remains are damp. I do not apply sprayway directly on the graphics, just wipe it over the top with the cleaning rag. Some bugs will leave a yellow tint on the cap but this will fade with time. I would think that at 60 mph a direct hit by a bug will penetrate any kind of spray that you can apply to keep them off. I detail my 04 Mountaineer all the time with turtle wax platinum and then use a spray detailer it shines better than new and my graphics look great.

The key is to remove them quickly, with in a day or so. If they sit there for a while and get baked on, they are tough to get off.

Dryer sheets since day one; best to wet the bugs down then apply dryer sheets with rubbing motion...use plenty of elbow grease.
