Tool Box Mounting?
I got in my head, the idea of mounting a tool box behind the rear wheel on the inside of my 8 foot bed.
I am wondering about clearance of the MOR/ryde pin box on the trailer when at a 90 degree angle. I'd appreciate any thoughts or idea's.
Here's a picture of the tool box.

Unless your picture is visually deceiving, it appears that the tool box is beneath the top of your bed rail, so it should not pose a problem. Everything that clears your bed rail and tail gate should clear the tool box as you have it located. Is it also lower than the pin plate on your hitch?

Jack, cut out some cardboard to fit the size of the tool box, put them in with tape, and hook up, then you will know for sure I suspect you would be OK, but this will let you know for sure with out actually installing.

Caution - Do you plan on putting a toneau cover on the bed? I was forced to use the "snap" type because I installed a large tool box up front and could not accommodate the desired roll up type.
Just think through the whole picture before you install anything.
Good luck.

Leave some fudge room to allow for angles. When the truck is tipped forward like when I'm pulling out of a parking lot, my pin box assembly gets pretty close the inside of the bed rails in the back. Enough that I busted up my BBQ grille sitting back there once.

I have the same boxes in the back of my truck, and they will hit if you go down or up the right dip and turn at the same time. Mine had hit several times before I decided to remove it before towing.

If you want to install a tool box or anything else that RE-TRAX will make you a roll top that will fit for you. Call them with the measurement. I have a RE-TRAX and really like and recommend it. this is not to start a argument mine is better then yours. It is just info that the roll toppers might be made to fit what you have.

Thanks Mark,Thats what I needed to hear. I think I'll give up the idea of mounting a box in that location.
