Rich,
You are pushing the envelope!
You are totally correct, lots of folks don't want to hear the truth.
Just read the blogs about how people feel about "bailing out" the auto companies. They are totally against it, even tho the auto companies have a bucket load of trickle down jobs. I hear lots of talk about how the American car is substandard, but when is the last time the talkers drove an American car. Our son had the opportunity to drive a Focus lately, Ford name, who knows where it was built???, but a Ford name on it, and he was very impressed. Lot of jabber about how the car companies need to restructure and downsize, well, obviously, you are not one of the over 400,000 people that have lost jobs in Michigan in the last few years, many of those were auto jobs.
My point, I guess, is, if you are going to kick someone in the pants, please be sure you know what kind of pants they are wearing??? (And, I'll bet you, they were not made in the USA, cause all those jobs left the USA years ago.)
Want tires made in the USA, most of that is gone too. Steel, gone, Telies - gone. The list goes on and on - - - - -
But, lets not talk about it, cause if you don't it won't hurt you. Well, sorry folks, a bunch of this hurt we are in, is cause we stick our heads in the sand and just plug along in our own little world.
In our little world, we are breathing a bit easier now that the price of fuel has dropped, we can afford to do the volunteer work again, and maybe travel. That said, that Ford pension check feels right nice when it hits the bank each month. Hope it hits next month.
If you don't think this mess affects you and the ones you care about, you might want to really listen to your friends, there are many here on the MOC that have been hurt and even devastated by this mess. I know some personally, I'll bet you do too.
OKKKK, off my soapbox, be kind to those you love, open your ears and hearts, listen my friends. Please listen.
