Dryer vent location
Hi everybody
Just wanting opinions on the best location to put the dryer vent to the outside. Going to install a splendide 2100xc vented combo unit would like to see what everyone else is doing and pictures would be great
Thankl

Adamsfamily, first of all, welcome to the forum.
I just looked at the location of your w/d in the front cabinet by the closet. There should be a decal on the outside wall inside the cabinet that indicates where to locate the vent. These Montanas are designed to have the vent located at a certain spot and then all you have to do is make sure that the hole you put in the wall lines up with the vent on the w/d!
If you are installing it yourself, just make sure the spot is right, before you drill, it's hard to fill in a mistake! Good luck.

It takes some guts to make the cut, but the 4" round by 2-1/2" thick plug makes a nice coffee coaster and conversation piece when you're done.
Ours was in the living room closet, so I couldn't say where exactly on your front closet location.

Hello adamsfamily,
Welcome to the MOC Forum.
I have a link for you that will show you how I did mine, I have a picture of the telescoping dryer vent, (Sears parts) and a rig I made to install my equipment. As for the hole, the placement is not critical in the closet there, studs are not close to the area you will need to drill. I have pictures of the stud outline somewhere, just can't find them right now. Any questions, just let me know. Try this:

On a dew drip morning, when the side of the Montana is glistening, you can see where the studs are.

Thanks everyone I had a cedar creek with a W/D until last sunday when she went up in flames.Never got the recall on the Dometic because I was the third owner(but that is a whole another story). I bought a 3500rl off of ebay and it should be here soon, I am going to get the W/D so I can install right away Thanks Again for all of the help on the location to drill

You lost your last rig because of a Dometic refrigerator failure?! Wow! You would think that they could have a real fix after all this time. I'm surprised there has not been a class action suit against them over all of the failures. I guess someone (or several someones) will have to get burned to death before they remedy the problem for real, instead of throwing $10 of sheet metal at it as a bandaid fix.

I put the 2100xc combo W/D in our 2007 3500RL myself. When you open up the cabinet you can see where the front wall has a shelf that runs all the way to the right outside wall. At the shelf level there is a big enough area on the outside wall to mount your vent. Hardest part was making that first cut.
