5th Wheel Leg Leveler
Bob just put one of these on our Monty and it works great!! We are always "discussing" which landing leg needs tweaking and this little device solves the question. We bought it at CW for $27.

I think this is one of the items I love too. Would buy another if I ever lost the one I have.

The leg leveler screws up or down for minute height adjustments.

We have used one for the last 4 years. Won't leave home without it. To me is money well spent.

It's a simple little thing that eliminates the need for all those slivers of wood that you've had to use to get the front legs level. Glen just put ours on yesterday and it worked great.

I've been using the leg leveler for several years and always make sure to move it to the new rig when we trade. It's so nice not to have to try to shim one side to keep from putting twist on the frame and to keep things level.

Stupid question--just how do you use the leg leveler? Do you lower the landing gear until you get to the point of contact with one leg, then adjust the leg leveler, then lower both legs together to lift the rig? Do you start with the leveler in a mid-position so that it can be raised or lowered depending on the terrain?

I think you've got the basic idea, David. But I'm no expert, for sure.

Are those levelers as sturdy as the OEM if the trailer wants to roll that little bit when we hitch and unhitch. I do chock the tires but there have been times the camper does not want to cooperate! Look like they way pivot at the leveling bolts?

Rich,
Tried to impress the DW with the new leg pins and told her you "just pull the pin and drop the leg, then lower the gear until the pins snap in". Did so, and the leg fell out on the ground and laid down next to my foot! She said she wasn't impressed! hahaha
I guess my truck sets too high, or I raise the landing gear too far.
Bob, I'll have to take a look at those.

Forgot to mention that I have a good supply 2X10 blocks. We try not to keep the legs extended to far. Right now we are on 4 2x10 blocks and the pin is in the 6th hole on both sides ...Now we normally level the camper side to side , boards or whatever before we unhitch(of course) so theoretically the camper should be level or very close to level(side to side)therefore the legs should drop level..or very close..never saw more than one hole difference( less than 1 inch and will not flex anything) and have never had to raise the legs very much to hear the click(then check) of the pin locking in. Brad..it is not a good thing to have the leg fall on the ground.. did not know that could happen.

Rich - I guess I didn't see the part that you put a block under the leg first (hahahaha). My inside leg tube fell right out then tipped over and laid on the ground. Not sure I can impress the DW anymore, but at least I know how to do it now .

The leg leveler directions say to install the leveler on the leg closet to the switch, drop the opposite leg and raise trailer until leg snaps. Then lower leveler leg to the closet to the bottom snap position and then twirl the leveler until firm on the ground or block.

Rich, if the ground is not level then you may be putting a bit of twist on the frame. If no adjustable leg, then shims can take up the slack. Not meant to criticize, just to point out a potential problem on unlevel ground. When I've done it this way, sometimes the front door sticks because of the twist.
