pros & cons of Truxedo vs Access vs other rollups
This is a follow-up to my earlier thread on soft rollup vs. retractable tonneau covers. In that thread, there were positive comments by those that had Truxedo and Access soft covers, but not much in the way of comparisons between the different brands of soft covers. I'd be very interested in any comments anyone could offer comparing the Truxedo covers to the Access covers or any of the other soft rollup covers on the market--plusses and minuses of each, things to watch out for and/or features to be sure to get when buying, particular models you thought well of or didn't like, etc.
Thanks for your help!!

David,
I ran the Truxedo on my 2001 1500 Silverado. I liked the cover and it worked great. The reason I do not have one now is, I found I hardly used it. It spent most of the time rolled up as the things I wanted to cover up would not fit under it. Being a fulltimer on the road, I am sure it will come in very handy. Ask Bill (adelmoll) what brand he has on their Ford. I was looking at it while in Goshen, amazed that his worked even with his hitch in the bed.

I have the Truxedo and really like it. I had a Peragon folding cover and it was junk.

I have a Truxedo on my F250, my wifes Supercrew and a Truxsport on my son's F150. The Truxedo is great, the customer service is even better, and the warranty on the Truxedo is Lifetime. Can't beat the value.

Take a look at Xtang covers. The one I have now has built in bars and uses industrial velcro attachments on the sides. The rear is pulled tight with a bar that snaps into place with attachments. It rolles up nice and is secured by two snaps. I painted a white stripe on the roled up cover (bottom side) so I can align the fith wheel with the hitch. Works great. It was easy to install.

I think I may have mentioned in the other thread already, but I will repeat myself, as I do many times anyway. I have had both the access and the truxedo and they are so close in design that I heard Access sued Truxedo or vise versa because of patent rights. I will have one on all of my future trucks just to keep the things in the bed dry and out of site.

I think Truxedo was the original. I've had to call them about adjustments and such as well as some replacement velcro strips and their customer service is REALLY good. I have no complaints and the lifetime warranty on workmanship and materials is the best in the business.

I have the Access and my b-i-l has the Tuxedo, so I have experience with both. We agree the Access is easier to work with due to the little higher side rails. I've had mine for 3 years with no signs of wearing out. I'd certainly do it again.

Access for me to! I've had others and this is the easiest to remove and put back (no bows or pieces to remove...no snaps...no nothing)...just heavy heavy duty velcro. I haven't ran across anything that would be a "con" with the access cover. Had mine going on 2 years now.

David and Jo-Anna,
We also have the Access cover after it was suggested here on the forum. The cover works as advertised. We especially like the ease in rolling it up and taking it down. We purchased the one that fits behind my toolbox.

We have the access on ours. We first had it installed on our 2001 Ford 350 and just took it with when we got the 2005. It was real easy to change over. As Dave says, it fits over our hitch and our tool box because we bought the tool box that sits inside the truck instead of on top of the rails. It is still like new after almost six years.

I have a Paragon and I'll second the junk vote.
I think the Roll-n-lock looks pretty good.
