Kitchen Floor
Well, my wife has had it with the small kitchen floor in our '03 3575RL. I went to Lowe's while she was out of town and bought the lino tile to put down and it would about double our kitchen floor. Started the job tonight. Carpet came up okay. Trimed it back to where where we wanted it okay. Pulled up the staples okay. Took up the old kitchen floor okay. Fixed some of the screws holding down the subfloor okay. I'm now two hours into this (that was the max time my wife thought it would take - I estimated 5 hours) and the lino wants to do nothing but fight me. I have decided that tomorrow would be a better day to do the install. Pray for me. I have taken before and during pictures, hopefully, I will get some after photos. Gotta get it done, we are heading out Thursday.

Well, tomorrow was yesterday. Put in two more hours with a trip to the hardware store and just need to trim up. Hope to have it done before I take off for a short trip Thursday. If not, I will do it on the trip. My fingernails are getting short so I had better get it done!

Patience, Patience and more Patience is all I have to say. When I am doing a project and it becomes difficult, I put the tools away and walk away only to think about it for a while and when I am ready I return to the job and get ur done!

Well, I got the floor done. Finished it on my trip this weekend. I increase the floor space in the kitchen from about 10 sq ft to around 27+ sq ft. Boy did I earn points with the wife, in fact, I got her to help out...well, she was really the driving force behind the whole thing. Anyway, lets see if I did the picture thing correctly. If I did it right, the first picture is of the space prior to the installation, the second is proof that my wife helped...you see her pulling out staples from the floor that held the carpet down and the third is a shot of the completed, trimmed out job.
---- The pictures exceed MOC guidlines. They were changed to links. The guidlines are no bigger than 640 x 480 and 60k file size or 90k if required.

Mike,
Floor looks Great, nice job, We don't like having all that carpet around when we go camping either.
When our carpet gets a little more worn , We will do something like that too.
Especially having Our old, old Dog around. As you can see,
She always get the best spots...

I must admit that even though I only did this through protest that my wife's idea was great and it looks far superior and, for us, is much more functional. The down side is she is not muttering something about the bathroom floor...oh well...maybe she just means....
