Bet you haven't seen anything like this before ...
So ... we're sitting in a Mexican restaurant in Mt. Shasta with all but one of the remaining couples at the Rally (HamRad, FiretruckerWife, Firetrucker, DHenry, Mrs. DHenry, Mr. and Mrs. Parrothead, SReigle, moi, and PERetired) having a great time, when we see what we have determined to be the strangest looking person we have ever seen ...
Yes, those are his ear lobes hanging down and can you see the bone-thingy in his nose?
When we were leaving, I simply had to ask the cashier if this guy was a regular. She said he wasn't and then told us that when he had paid his bill, he commented to her on how strange the man sitting in the booth next to him was because the guy had been talking to himself through his entire meal. She said all she could think of, but didn't say, was that's sort of like the pot calling the kettle black!

Vicki,
I bought my wife a set of Emerald Earrings in Leavenworth last weekend, made from Mt St. Helen's Lava Rock. But I give up. This guy has us beat all to heck. His must has been made from all the trees that were blown over.

Hard to tell from that angle but it may be a guy that graduated from Dunsmuir High School around 1959. He lives in the Watsonville area and has always danced to a different drummer. Nice enough guy but hard to carry on a conversation with. That is without staring at his numerous piercings. If it is him he also has tattoos over most of his body.
Also he belongs to Mensa. Very high IQ. In college he tried to disprove the theory of relativity and actually made some progress toward that goal before he was asked to leave the school.

Ouch! Just when you think you have seen it all, someone comes along and throws that theory out the window. =)

Just did some checking with friends in the Dunsmuir area and it definitely was him. He routinely visits the Mt Shasta cemetery on Memorial Day to put flowers on his Grandmother's grave. She raised him. He has always been different but the past 10 years he has really gone over to the other side (so to speak). He used to be able to stay at classmates homes when he was up here but most of them can't handle his eccentricities. I am so glad I wasn't at Casa Ramos that night! He would have come right over and joined our group. Barbara graduated High School with him.
If you really want to meet him up close, I am sure he will be in the area next Memorial day and we can try to make contact with him. Actually that is not a good idea, probably won't be able to get away from him once he finds someone to talk to.

Dang! And I thought just piercing my ears was painful. That must have hurt for a long time.

Dang! Looks like we really missed a sight! Vicki, did you get a front view? Are those earings the kind that have holes in the middle? Ohhhh that just isn't right!

I didn't get a front view and I don't think Vicki got one, either. I still shiver just thinking about those ear lobes stretching all the way around those things!
Drhowell knows him personally. Maybe he or Barbara can answer your question.

Yes they are hollow tubes (earrings?) and he has so many piercings it gives you the willys just looking at his face. I hate to think about any other body parts that may have them. Personally I have only seen them from the neck up and that was enough for me.
I think adelmoll is correct about the genius next to insanity thing.
