Drivers Test - GMAC Ins - CNN
Here you go guys and gals! Read this CNN article on the "Dumbest Drivers" by state. Then go to the bottom and take the test by GMAC Ins. There is also a link to show how the states were ranked.
I shot throught this test, thought I had them all right, but only scored an 85%. The bad part about this test is that at the end they do not tell you which ones you got wrong - they just say Thank you for taking this test - You got a ___ %. They also mention that 70% is passing.
I have to take my 3 yr driver's license renewal test on July 8 - my birthday. I hope I will see this test again???
Good luck all you knowledgable drivers!
---------------------------------
EDIT MAY 28 10:08 AM ----
SPOILER ALERT! Go to this link FIRST and take this test BEFORE you read further, as the discussion of the answers are below in subsequent posts.
If not taking the test... read away...

Darn, there are so many people trying to take the test that you can't get on right now. I have bookmarked it so I can take it later. Thank you anyway for the post, this should be interesting since I just took my test and got them all right...We will see if this test is easier or harder. Thanks

If you guys all say you got 100% on that test, I'm not camping next to you!
Wait a minute... you probably wouldn't want me backing in next to you anyway...

Apparently every member of MOC is trying to take the test as the site is overwhelmed. Bookmarked so will try later. I wonder how I will do as I am a retired Deputy Sheriff and teach the AARP Safe Driving class. To be honest I learn something in every class I teach.

For those of you going to the above site, when you see the message that the site is overwhelmed, click on the link in the paragraph (to gmac-something) which takes you to the home page, then click on Test Home (upper left of the screen), then click on the orange "Take the Test" button and you can take the test.
Also, when you are done it will show you the correct answers for each question (not just the ones you missed), but you can figure out your mistakes (if any) from viewing the correct answers.
Have fun.

Thanks Longwell. 90% here. Got 15 and 16 wrong, but you know what my answers were correct for Wisconsin so I don't know what state GMAC was using for its answer. In fact, if you followed their answer on the Do Not Pass sign I would have given you a ticket when I was working.

Found out that I missed number 13..That is not so in Ohio..If you are not in a marked crosswalk you are fair game.. having a CDL license helped in other questions.

I missed the same two as Dave....#15 & 16. Texas has a yellow stripe in your lane in the NO PASS ZONE. For me the other one indicates the right lane will be closed and there will only be one lane of traffic.

In Las Vegas, all pedestrians are "fair game". My daughter, who has lived there for the past 6 yrs, told us that many are killed every year. The driver is NOT at fault in these accidents - unless a husband is run over six times by an angry spouse who caught her husband cheating. That's a little more of a "gray area" in the law there...

I also missed number 7. I apparently tried to over-analyze these answers. If you are in most cities, there is ALWAYS traffic coming. Just wait until you have a "safe" ("not dangerous") space to turn. If you are going to wait until you SEE no more cars coming ("until no more cars are coming") - a couple blocks away, or more - you will be there for a few days. Maybe 3 AM or 4 AM in some urban areas???
Missed the "Less space in lane ahead", also. I scored an 85, which meant I apparently missed one other somewhere, but I don't know which one that was as the rest I should have had correct. Just like in college - trying to rush through a test to make a game of "Hearts" at the Student Union...

These questions seem to follow the California rules.
I've been studying for the last couple of weeks for my RV endorsement.
I scored 100% but I guessed on #7. CDL Driver Handbook says to make a left turn when it is safe to do so.

I got 100% also. I agree with Ken, having driven in other states, these sound like California rules for the most part. Ken, what is the RV endorsement and what will it do for you?
Happy trails......................

I just took the test and scored 95%. It is good to take this test once in awhile just to keep you thinking about the safety of driving. I am also curious about the RV endorsement for your license, what is that for?

90% for me but I didn't care for how a couple of the questions were worded. Can't think of the exact question but the right answer was Police Officer. I just didn't get it the way it was worded.
