Interesting DPF video
The following link is an animation of how the DPF works for big Diesels. Similar devices will be deployed on smaller trucks.

Not scary but does add to the complexity of our vehicles.

Nice video.be it noted that the fuel injected into the system , although small, i guess, is not being used to run the truck therefore some of the decreased MPG.Maybe the EPA should just ban motors and we can go back to foot power and bicycles.

Rich, you would play merry blue blazes getting Helen to pull the fifth wheel with a bicycle if we went back to people power

OK So is this going to be for future diesels or an add on for EPA requirements.

My understanding is that this will help trucks meet the particulate (soot) specs for trucks built 2007 and beyond.

As we have been told at these seminars there is no requirement for non- commercial vehicles to convert or upgrade...yet.. We will still burn the low sulfur diesel fuel which will lower efficiency all around. Gas vehicles will no no better with the new improved gas blend. For years the marketing folks sold the diesel motor because it ..got better fuel MPG, was more efficient, Etc but failed to mention it was environmentally unfriendly and a major source of pollution..wonder what their spin will be on this????
