Here is an update on Lucie's sister from Picayune, Mississippi. Which is 40 miles north of New Orleans.
First Marie-Paule (Lucie's sister) received the donation of $193. that was collected at our rally on Sept. 05. Marie-Paule was very touched and greatful for your contribution. She has tears in her eyes everytime she reads the letter.
Second she and her family were not injuried, however their two houses were totaled. Her husband and two sons had to seek refuge in their automobile when their house was torn apart. And their cow died. They are living in a tent with no running water. They are waiting for insurance and FEMA for future housing assitance. Their spirits are very high. And her husband returned to work this past week. They have to wait 1 1/2 hours in the hot sun for food aid which is a drive of 45 minutes. Marie-Paule reported that her small town of 4,000 people has grown to over 36,000 people. She has also received aid from her family.
