I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but it is of general interest I think, so here goes....
Google.com (famous for the infinite searching power on the internet) also has a MAPS feature. But it's not just another mapquest rehash....if you look at the top right corner of the page, you can get the SATELLITE VIEW of the mapped area you're viewing!
My apologies if you're rolling your eyes, having known about this all along, but we've been using it to find beautiful areas to camp and previewing our entire trip using this feature. We have quite a few funny stories related to using this thing.
It really benefits from a fast connection, but even us cell-phone troglodites get the images eventually.
Tip: don't just use the directional arrow keys on the left. Left click and HOLD to DRAG the map for fine adjustments.
