Control Module for AC/Heat Pump
I need a control module for my heat pump. The factory installed the wrong one so the heat pump won't work. The dealer says I have to contact Keystone, Keystone says I have to go through the dealer. I'm in a loop here so I sent an email to the CEO of Keystone and he didn't even have the courtesy to respond. The part number is 9630-755. Does anyone know how I can get this part? Just as a side note my 5th Wheel is still under warranty but, it expires the first of December.

Are you certain about that number? Mine is 9630-756 for my 2021 3121RL. I had to replace it, repair a wire to the gateway and replace a miswired outdoor temp sense relay on my heatpump. I was under the impression the 9630-755 was for Super Solar units.
If you have a 9630-756 there is a jumper that needs to set for HP and 1 that needs to be set for Zone #.
If you don't see a temp displayed in your iN Command it could be the gateway box rather than the control board (9630-756 box). There are only 2 tiny wires that carry the data to/from the gateway and I found one detached inside the molex 4 pin connector.

If you look at the outdoor sense relay in this photo - IT IS WIRED WRONG! Don't take my word - check the schematic on the cover (same location as the capacitors). In the photo the purple and orange wires were reverse of the schematic and I corrected it. Our units were probably built within a couple weeks of each other, maybe same guywired yours?

You only need the 755 if you have Super Solar. The 755 has the capability to shed loads. The 756 will definitely run the heat pump. As Rip said, it is most likely wires swapped. Your dealer is responsible for all warranty work. You paid them for it and on warranty work, Keystone pays the dealer. Good luck. The way I know the 756 works is that is what was in our Super Solar. They developed a load shedding capability, sort of, with the 756. Only problem, when it shed the air conditioning, it never turned back on. The 755 is what should be in Super Solar.

The dealer that is working on it (Non Keystone Dealer) said that the 756 is for the unit without the Energy Management System and the 755 is with the EMS. I called Keystone and the lady I spoke with didn't instill much confidence in her answer but said my unit had the EMS.

I think you are dealing with folks using EMS to describe different things! EMS in Super Solar controls the timing of AC unit starting. Legacy units with solar flex have a simple energy sharing device that is used for the line voltage supply to 3rd unit (does not interace to the gateway or control modules in the unit). I think you're getting confusing info in part because the same technology changes names from one RV manufacterer to the next, so people adopt generic names for it.

That makes sense. Because when I talk with different people I get the feeling that we are not talking about the same thing and I try to make sure we are but I feel that I'm not getting the message out clear enough or people are not listening. haha

What happens when you try to run the heat pump? Has the heat pump ever worked that you know of?
BTW - on our Legacy units the "EMS" (at least how they market it) is in the automatic transfer switch and it simply monitors the incoming power to the rig and shuts it down if there are problems. Has no bearing on your heat pump situation.

On my unit, with 9630-756 control module, the Precision Circuits Power Control System (PCS) does the load shedding. On the back of the PCS panelboard is a 12 pin connector. Two of those are normally closed (NC) contacts that provide ground to the heat pump. PCS load shed opens that contact and turns off the HP. The 755 module will change how it works on load shed.

M&M,
Rwork doesn't appear to have Super Solar so I don't think he has any load shedding. As far as I know the Legacy models with the Solar Flex only have a power share device for third AC unit (on ours it will cut off power to the vacuum if the 3rd AC is running (we don't have the 3rd AC but I've traced the wire to this power share unit in the basement).
Please let me know if this is wrong...

M&M, yes the Precision Circuits does control load shedding, but without the 755, the AC will not power back up after 2 minutes. At rally, there were four Super Solar units and they replaced all 756’s with 755’s. MAWilsonPE did a really great write up on this which had us all testing our units. Rip, the load shedding is done in a specific sequence because of the 30 amp circuit for the Super Solar, not just the third AC. It sheds the load when it exceeds 30 amps and restarts after two minutes.
Rework, sorry for hijacking your thread. Your 756 should work fine with your heat pump if it is functioning and wired correctly.

rames14, you mentioned that at the rally there were 4 units there that switched out the 756's with the 755's. Then you state that the 756 should work on my RV. I have my RV at a non Keystone dealer and he is telling me that Coleman told him to use the 755 but, a somewhat local Keystone dealer that I talked to said that I should use the 756. I just want to make sure what I put in is the right one. So, should I install the 755? My RV is came from the factory without either one of these installed, it has something totally different. My HP has never worked from day one.

Rwork, this shouldn’t be as confusing as it has gotten. We all have different systems based on year, Legacy/non-Legacy, High Country, Super Solar, etc. I am attaching a link to a really good description of Mike Wilson’s explanation of the Super Solar controller - the 755. This explains why Super Solar has the 755 and yours shouldn’t, need it. https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...ad.php?t=84020
My guess is that you should have the 756. Now, my heat pump wasn’t working properly at first and they found a jumper that wasn’t on both pins. But, after reading Mike’s excellent write-up on the way Super Solar worked with load shedding is why my controller was switched to a 755. My understanding is that you do not have Super Solar, correct? Then you don’t need the 755. Keystone/your dealer should be able to tell you exactly which control box should be based on your VIN. You also can look up your controller and see if it is heat pump capable. I would have looked it up, but didn’t see which board you have. First and foremost, I am assuming you have a Coleman A/C/Heat Pump. Air Excel is also a good source as Keystone now owns them. If so, your dealer should be able to find the wiring and jumper positions for the controller. There is another post out there I recall where a non-heat pump controller was installed in their unit. So, once you verify you have a heat pump capable controller, have them check wiring and jumper locations. I believe that all units should have the same controller front and back. While you are working on this, do you have a soft start? We stayed at a friend’s house and mooch docked off 15 amps, ran all of our appliances and the heat pump. The heat pump and A/C will run on 15 amp with the soft start. As long as they are up there, it would be a good time to add it if it isn’t already there. Best of luck and keep us posted on the resolution. Happy Thanksgiving.

My front unit was mis wired at the factory. 2019 3121RL with legacy package. Make certain that is not your problem. I do not have the super solar.

We had the wrong controller installed as well. Had to have a mobile tech order the correct controller 9630-756 (confirmed by Airxcel) and installed. After numerous calls to Keystone CS and payment refused by Keystone they finally stepped up and paid for the new controller and installation cost as a warranty item. Unit fine now.

Finally, I was able to aquire a 9630-756 control unit and the RV Tech installed it and I think it is working now. Although I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. When I turn on the heat pump (electric setting) I hear the furnace come on and the HP. I didn't turn the gas on so the furnace will shut off after a minute or two since it won't light. 50 degrees out side and the HP warmed the RV up to 63 degrees after a few hours of running. Then I turned on the electric fire place too and it warmed to 69 degrees. I would appreciate any of you explaining to me how it's supposed to work. My next project is installing a Onan 5500 generator. I've gotten way more info from this group than I have ever gotten from Keystone! Thanks to everyone for your help!!!

You have to set the HP in steps, if you set it more than 3 or 4 degrees above the inside temp the furnace will try to kick on to raise the temp quicker. So just set it a few degrees above inside temp and slowly increase it until you reach your desired temp.

Those heat pumps are a poor source of heat, If its 45 or lower outside with no sunshine its worthless. Fireplace and a couple of small ceramic heaters work quite well.I place a small heater in basement also if its really cold makes a big difference.

Heat Pump AC Location
I'm in the process of troubleshooting my Coleman AC - Heat pump issue. On our 2022 3231CK Legacy with "In command", the furnace always fires first when selecting AC Heat even when the requested temperature is within three degrees of current temperature. The furnace will shut off after a couple minutes but this seems to be a waste of power and a nuisance as we have our inside furnace vents covered when the furnace is not required. I honestly can't tell if heat is actually coming out of our overhead registers while running the AC Heat pump. I have not spent much time trying to diagnose if the sequence is normal as we have been full timing the last year in Florida. Like "Scuba Dude" recommends we use the fireplace and a Ceramic heater for the bulk of our heating needs. As a side note for Keystone - Why is the heat pump AC in the rear location when you already have an Electric Fireplace in the rear? My logic thinks it may be better placed in the Forward Bedroom location? What say you?
