Question For American Legion Members
I can't recall this being discussed before. I heard someplace that there are some American Legion Posts that will allow overnight RV parking for traveling members. Has any American Legion members out there done this, and if so is there a site indicating which ones allow this or are large enough to allow this?
Out of the 3 posts I frequent in Florida there is only one that has a parking lot big enough to allow a couple RV's to overnight, and even that one would have a full lot on some weekends.

I have never stayed in an American Legion lot. I have found some church parking lots in Missouri and Iowa to be RV friendly

I would think Very few would have a lot big enough. Ours is large enough, but gets packed for bingo on Friday night.

Yes this is true. I am the past Commander for Post 51 Epping, NH. We have a large lot and infrequently will have Legion Members from other states, passing through, over-night or stay for a day or two.
Call the Post you may be interested in, and ask for the Commander or have an Officer give you a call back.

While I am on the subject, I believe the Conway American Legion off of RT16 in NH can do the same.

You can go on line a find a few. Call ahead to a post in the area before leaving. Some have rv spaces, open parking lots or nothing available. There are a few requirements before you can stay, so call ahead.

If you are retired, active military or DOD or other government, MWR campgrounds on military bases can be just great for overnight or extended stays. I am beginning to discover them. I have stayed in a few from Indiana to Key West. Some were fantastic. Some were disappointing. ALL were well worth the money. Go to http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/ to research it.

This is true! Stayed at a few, and most had the basics. Some are in areas that if the military put some money into them, they would be great draws!. Been to West Point inNY, Rangely in Maine, Foster Creek in South Carolina, and Oceana NAS in Virginia

I don't know about American Legion but I am currently and often stay in BPOE parks. Some are greater than others, but all are acceptable. Being in a place with fellow lodge members is great, not to mention the great dinners and Bars that are available to me.
