Black and Gray Tank Valves
We have a 2015 3720RL and prior to the warranty running out the leaking black tank valves was fixed by replacing the cable. That was a year ago, now the gray tank valves is leaking. I have crawled under and dropped the bottom cover and shot some lubricant up the cable and it appear to work for a short time. Has anyone modified this system by putting a direct put rod in getting rid of the cables?? I guess I will order a new cable for now. I had to fix the kitchen pull when the handle broke which was a one stop at Home Depot but the bathroom pull is a little more difficult.

I replaced all four of mine with direct threaded rod pulls. Had to reroute the plumbing, and drill new access holes. Took me most of a Saturday, all parts except the valves themselves from either Home Depot or lowes, I forget which. I submitted a detailed post on this forum as to what I did. Don't remember how I titled. Benn a year now, can open and shut using one finger.

I thought this could be done, I will see if I can find your details. Thanks, sounds like a job for me when we get back to Phoenix this November.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and replace the valves and cable with this https://www.amazon.com/Valterra-TC37...n+waste+valve& The Valterra stuff is so much better than stock A baby could pull the cable with his little finger I put these on my 2012 and my 2015 I went thru the same dance with the Lube etc.... but it always gets hard to pull again

Thanks bigskyjimmy, another option to look at. I have to keep my blue boy hooked up where ever I'm at until I can get this fix.

Yep, they are not hard to replace just takes a little time and make sure the Tanks are EMPTY before you replace the valves or it will get MESSY what I do is leave the valves open for a while THEN I push up in the middle of the tank till more comes out then you are good to go

I had the same problem recently with the black tank valve leaking and when I went to flush tank got a very messy surprise when removing the sewer cap. I was advised by a fellow forum member to purchase a twist valve and I would never have the problem again. I ordered a Valterra twist valve from Amazon and installed it. It works great and no long time consuming repair with dropping the underbelly and buying new valves and cables. Try it.

I have a end termination valve too but that does not solve the problem of hard to pull cables that will just snap off in time because of the bad Frayed cables and stuck valves you have to replace them before that happens (HHMMMM how would I know this??)

We just had both the gray and black tank pull cables replaced they were super hard to pull. We can now pull them with one finger we had the galley cable replaced by the same dealership 2 years ago and they are still easy to pull. I do not know the brand except that they cost 69.30 each and they are not OEM
