Replacing couch...it's time
The couch/sleeper in our 2009 3400 has seen better days. I want another sofa/sleeper, not interested in theater seating or recliners. Has anyone done this? Trouble getting the old one out and new one in? Brands?

If I was faced with that situation I would take measurements of the space I had available and go shopping starting at Lazyboy. When we had out 2008 3400RL we replaced the sleeper/sofa after only 1 year with a high quality all hardwood futon that made out into a queen bed. Worked great for us.

Did that with our 2010. Found a flex steel where the back came off, making it easy to get in the rig.

The couch in the 13 3402 is very uncomfortable can't wait for it to wear out. It is going fast.

Our 13 actually has a build date of June 2012 so you are correct.
The thing is a brick. We are not full timers like you but close and the think is wearing out fast.

We got rid of our couch and replaced it with Console table. gives us a little bit more storage and makes the living room area feel bigger.

Virginia Young: Here is what we did in place of the couch. Opens the living room up a lot and makes it more of a homey feeling. Pictures are not the best quality, took them with my phone.

Really nice, Scott and Sue! If we didn't have so many grandkids that like to camp with us, I would do away with the couch also! I have been checking out futons and they all seem too big. The couch measures about 73" wide and all the futons are 80". Dave and Sharon, do you remember where you got your futon and how big it was?

Nice setup if you don't need the seating. Particularly over the winter season in Florida we do a fair amount of entertaining.

WOW! I really like it. Looks like you would still have plenty of room for an air mattress, if you had overnight guests.

Plenty of room for the air mattress if needed. As far as entertaining...We figure that most of the time when visitors come over we all sit outside under the awning or at the picnic table so the lost seating from the couch is not an issue.
JacknBetsy: Sorry....Didn't mean to steal your tread.

In the middle of same project. Found that taking the sofa apart wasn't as bad as expected. Ours was 4 bolts and a dozen screws. We then had the sleeper mechanism, 2 arms and the drawer, all easily went thru the door.

Royce and Ruth Anne - What are you replacing your sofa with? I have been looking at futons, but I can't find one small enough to fit. All are 75"-80" and the space is 73".
