Sites With Bad Sewer Runs
During out recent trip out west we had two sites that we either had to run the slinky stinky about 20' almost level or further. I had to use a straight clear connection from my sewer boom and then try to prop up my sewer line support system to make the run.
Today I corrected the issue. I had a 5' section of PVC post sleeve left over from another project. I split it down the middle so now I have two 5' sections of "U" shaped troughs that I can support easily to make these difficult runs to a bad sewer hook up.

I carry 4 sections of plastic gutter. It works great at the fall rally where you need a long hose.

I have looked at those. Do they work pretty good?

We have had one for 3 years and they work great. It does take a bit longer to dump.

Funny how this topic just showed up. We were in Castaways in Ocean City MD last week and had a VERY long sewer run. It was longer than the one at the fall rally. Good thing I carry all that fall rally hose. I had to back the trailer up around 10 feet before leaving to get a good drop to flush the tank. Furthermore, the pipe stuck out the ground about 4 inches. I mentioned that to them in the campground review. Site #60.

Sewer solution still working perfect after over 5 years. No moving parts to wear out either.

We found several CG's so far this year that had newer looking sewer drops that were PVC and sticking about 4 to 5 inches out of the ground. I am not sure why they insist on having them so high.

I ask why some sewer pipes are 4 to 5 inches high and was told extensions were to keep storm water from entering sewer system. Now IMP a sewer cap is placed over pipe when not in use and my screw-on sewer connection is water tight where is storm water going to enter system? This is what happens when rvers will not follow rules and replace caps.

Exactly what I do I needed a long run when we stayed at Venice Campground near you in 2003 and 2004 always carried with me after that!

Really makes you shake your head cause even if you don't RV you would think common sense would take over. I mean you would think the contractor installing the lines knowing its an RV park would check to see just what is involved. You would think the person having it built would check into what's involved in hooking up a RV, especially since they are gonna own a RV park. I have never seen a RV with a sewer line on the rear.... Even in the Resort we were at in Az this past summer... 1800 sites probably the worst thought out RV park in history. Took 2 sections of 20 ft hose to reach the sewer pipe. Along with other pita problems for RVers.......

The sewer connections that are 4-5 inches off the ground do not bother me. the ones where they have poured a concrete square around the sewer connection and recessed it about 2 inches. I cannot get the threaded elbow to screw onto it. I wind up using my donut and trying to find a rock or something heavy to hold it in. I need to make a 3 inch extension to screw to the connector and then attach my elbow to it.
Oh yeah, I carry some plastic gutter. I have broken down my slinky hose support into sections that I then place a small piece every 4 or 5 feet to support the gutter.

In all the weird places we've been, including Goshen, leaving the last 10-20' of hose on the ground even with a rise to the cap has never caused a problem. Currently our run is about 50'. I have the supports going from the rig as far as possible and then the rest is on it's own.

I like your idea of the threaded extension. I've run into the need for one a couple of times.

I agree with the posts! A RV park is for RVs! I have to assume that saving $100 or less per site to put the sewer drop in the middle of the site with the power pedestal is to much to ask for. Even newer parks don't seem to have considered the USER--US! So--like others, I carry extra hose, plastic rain gutter (only about $4 each), donuts, etc. But if someone finds a threaded extension for those really poorly installed sewer connections--please post it.

This really makes you wonder who does the layout planning for many campgrounds. We carry a 25' power cord extension, an extra water hose and an extra section of our Sewer Solution discharge hose. In the past year we have had occasion to need each of these extensions. At a recent campground, Rocky Fork Ranch in Kimbolton, Ohio, the water and electric were properly located near the left rear of our Big Sky. The sewer was near the front right which required that we run the sewer line, with the extension, underneath the trailer to reach. Glad we had the macerator and didn't have to level under the rig.

I've a two section CAMCO that I use most of the time - I like the swiveling connections and ability to use one 10' section vs. two when using a dump station. I've been using one of those 'slinky' accordion folding hose holders as well and been very happy with it when the sewer pipe is raised further than it should be. I also started carrying the old 20' sewer pipe we had with our old TT that the trade in dealer wouldn't take when we bought our Monty in spring 2013. That with the CAMCO has worked well at any place we've needed to hook up to.
I've also got a Flo-Jet mascerater, but only use it at home to dump into our septic tank.

Recessed sewer connection help needed!
I can screw in the part that connects to the opening of the site waste port but when I try to connect the 90 degree elbow with one end that is a bayonet and the other end that is a keyed connection, it will not connect as it is too short and catches on the lip of the concrete that surrounds the waste port. All I really need is a 4-6 inch extension so I can connect to the bayonet fitting end of the 90 degree elbow with my sewer hose. Any suggestions? Does anyone know where I can find an extended 90 or 45 elbow?
