Florida visit
Ok, no one laugh please, but we are delivering our daughter's dogs to her in Fort Bragg, NC from SoCal in January/2015 and since we have not been to Florida before, thought we would take a tour of the state on our way back.
We plan on travelling down I95 and come back up on I75. From all I have read, it could be a challenge finding any space to park our rig. Any
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

For the most part, you'll be OK if you're just doing short stays (few days to a week). Many of the Parks keep a few sites for short stays, but if you were looking for longer stays you would have problems. And from what I've heard and seen, many more of the sites will be filled after last years Northern weather and what's forcast for this winter.

When you say park your rig, are you talking about at RV parks, or are you planning on trying to stay somewhere free like Wal-Mart parking lots or rest areas? If you're looking for RV parks, download one of the many apps for your smart phone and it will help you find places along the way.

Michelle and Ann,
Thanks for the info, and yes, we would only be staying for a few days at each stop.

Fort Bragg has a nice RV park at Smith Lake. Many snowbirds like Myrtle Beach. I also recommend James Island County Park in Charleston. We have two sons at Ft Bragg and we live in Fayetteville. Let us know when you are here.

If you are not eligible to stay at Smith Lake on Ft. Bragg I recommend the Fayetteville RV Resort off I-95 Exit 61 near Fayetteville/Fort Bragg. This is a nice RV Park and can accommodate any size rig. We have stayed there and it does not matter if you plan to stay a few days or longer.

Don, Larry, Pat, Jay,
Thanks for all of your great tips!! We will have the ability to stay at Smith Lake when we visit our daughter and son-in-law. They have some great sites there. We will continue on south to Savannah for a couple of days then move on south to Florida.
We will certainly take advantage of all of the different links that you have provided.
Larry & Pat, We will PM you when we have a better idea of the dates we will be at Fort Bragg.
Blessings,
Mike and Cathie

There is a new RV resort off of I-75, exit 139, Fort Myers called Cypress Trails. They just opened last Christmas and know they will have places to rent for one night or for a couple of weeks. The park is intended for owners, however; they're new and building more lots than they have owners. Very nice place. Concrete pads, clubhouse, swimming pool and all the other amenities. Feel free to contact me and I'll get you in touch with the couple running the park. This is where we call home for the winter, we're on lot 471.
