I have them on my 2010 Dodge 3500 SRW and they bring the truck up level and smooth out the ride. Would do it again. I think it cost less than $500 installed. No compressor, but that only requires keeping between 5 to 20 lbs of air in them. I check them every 3 months or so. Only need 5 lbs with no load and 15 to 20 with the trailer attached.

I had them installed on my F350 for about $600.00 parts, tax and labor. I had them do it because I have the B & W Companion Hitch and thought it might be difficult with the plate on the side. I think they ending up drilling one hole on each side. They work great. Really improved the ride.

I've had them on 2 pickups - smooths out the ride - much less chunking. Check out the ones at Summit Racing - cheaper than Firestone and easy to install too.

Jimmer, that was my outstanding question. I have the B&W on my F250 and had concerns about what I might have to do to fit the mounting plates. I looked today after a bike ride.. and I don't see any hole available for mounting. Hope there is a template for drilling.

Bill, in the instructions I posted above the frame bracket mounts with the 2 bolts holding the axle bump stop on. Remove the 2 bolts in the stop, discard and mount the top bracket using those 2 bolts.
The instructions are for a 2008-2012 Dodge I posted.
Ford instructions are here, http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/manual...-ride-rite.pdf Or go to http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/suspension-air-bags and pick your truck, then in the description of the spring you will find installation instructions.

Had them on both of my trucks. Would do it again without question. Had the manual ones first and now have the in cab controller and would go with the in cab again if I replaced my truck. Well worth the extra $

Joe, I had Firestone airbags on my 07 Chev Durmax. A friend and I installed them. I also bought one of a few Firestone kits that come with an air compressor and an air tank installed underneath my vehicle along the frame rail. The air tanks can be 1, 2 or 3 gal. We also installed an air outlet on the truck's step on one of the ends to use to air up tow vehicle tires and the rig tires as well. Good luck.

well I got my air bags installed today. a lot cheaper than the original bid I got of $900. plus. Installed $610. They did a great job very neat and only took them about hour and forty five minutes.
What a difference in pulling the monty. Really leveled the old dodge out. Might stop some of the head light flickering at me now. Did not realize how low I was setting. Thanks to all for the advise and help.
One last question if you would what do you all run for air pressure? I am at 20lbs now. Rides good and sets well. Dealer that installed them suggested this and so far I am satisfied. He said any more I would get to hard of a ride. Never had them so Don't really know. thanks again. Joe

Have a 2006 GMC Sierra HD2500 duramax and just purchased the Montana 3610rl. We had a 2006 Newmar Cypress 32 foot long. I know that the Montana is approximately 400 pounds heavier and the pin weight is about 300 heavier. I know that the trucks sages more, but I haven't noticed much difference in pulling. My question does the air bags take some of the weight off or are the air bags more for handling?

Handling, ride and leveling the truck out.
They do not take off weight. On my truck
They helped keep the rear off the overload
springs which made the truck have a much
smoother ride. I keep about 40Lbs of air in
them with the trailer weight on the air bags.
But each truck is different. You have to see
what works for your truck & trailer.

I had the Firestone Air Bags installed on my 2011 RAM 2500. Importantly, I also purchased an on board compressor and I had a gauge installed on my dash board so that I can check their pressure from time to time. While reading this thread, I noticed that no one mentioned the air bag's help in balancing the rig..and ride...while driving in moderately high wind. They are very helpful. Once in a while I actually test the rig with a level...and make sure that everything is where it should be. I would highly recommend them. MP1

I just had them put on my 2010 dodge 3500. Have not used the trailer as of yet with them. Going in 2 wks.
Does everyone fill the bags 1st, then hook up the trailer? Or hook up the trailer, then level it out?

poloace ... you'll just have to hook up and see what pressure makes things look about level first, then adjust a bit for optimum ride quality. Once you get a PSI figure, fill to that. You'll either have to use a figure before or after hitched up as the PSI will increase when you set the fiver down on the hitch. Some feel they need to return the height of the truck to where it sits empty ... I believe that is flawed thinking as most all trucks empty sit a bit high in the back. You should figure on a bit of spring compression when you sit #3000 in the bed.

I actually inflate to about 30 lbs right after I lock my kingpin into place, then I finish hooking everything up and do a pull test. After that I may adjust my air depending on road conditions or how the truck is sitting. I deflate to 10-15 lbs after I unhook.

Our last TV was Chevrolet HD2500. Our solution was a bigger truck, C5500.

$325 for air levelers vs $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for just a bit of overkill on a TV. I realize the price was probably right and the mileage isn't all that bad, but I just had to smile on that one.
