Actually, now days talking on the Cell Phone while driving can get you stopped in a lot of states.
We put over 20K on our Montana, 34' and close to that on our SOB 41' and so far (knock on wood) we haven't been stopped for anything.

Not only that, some states will pull you over if you are talking on a CB or ham radio. I'm not sure on the laws concerning CB's, but state laws (or more correctly their interpretation by law officers) outlawing ham use, even while driving are superseded by Federal law which allows their use, moving or not. Of course that won't stop you from getting into an Ozz situation.

California adopted a "distracted driver statute "! So anything other than using " dash mounted GPS" or controls can get you a ticket. Dog on your lap, cell phone in hand, eating, brushing hair, putting on makeup, yelling at kid in back seat, loose dog or cat! All of these activities fall under distracted driver statute! I can imagine even more activities are included on the list.

Jay D, that guy was a real Ham Bone and just loved to greet people. But that photo was taken by a Professional at one of the many Cat Shows we used to go to.

When we had a Glendale Titanium 26E31DS I used to tow doubles all the time, trailer plus 18' Ranger bass boat. Got checked for length only, I was just over 62 ft, and for a class a license with a double endorsement. That was the first time out with the double rig and never checked for over 7 years after that.
I agree - just don't be stupid in your actions.
