05 mountaineer satelite question
Does anyone know if the mountaineers are coming prepped for satelite? I just picked up my new 335rlbs yesterday and the dealer told me it would come preped that way but during the walkthru they said it just had the cable line. There are a set of co-ax connections on the TV wall that are seperate from the booster and antenna co-ax connection but does that mean it can carry a satelite signal?

Hi Starchmill,
If it came prepped, I would think It would have a separate connector on the outside of your RLBS. One for a cable hook-up and a another one for the Sat. dish.
On ours we have just two connectors in the TV compartment. One for Cable & one for the Ant. I added a connector for our portable Sat. dish by drilling to the outside at the lower part of the TV compartment. I then installed the proper exterior connector cover with about 3' of coax and hooked that to TV.
If you have more than two connectors in the TV compartment I would think you are pre prepped, Maybe just for a roof mounted dish thou.

My 2004 model came with a single exterior connection that works for both cable or a satellite cable. Keystone upgraded the interior cable to rg6. If your interior connection has 2 cable connectors with a short loop attached then you will find that the upper connector links to the exterior connector. Plug in yout tv cable here to get whatever you have attached outside.

Busybees,
Does this mean, if your in a Park you have to choose between Cable or Sat. you can't have both? If so, would it make sense to add another co-ax on the outside so you could have both?

It has a satellite/cable connection. In ours the connection on the outside runs to the bottom connector next to the living room TV. The other connector goes to the bedroom. The satellite work good, but the signal to the bedroom it weak. Will have to look into that later...

Azstar, although the rg6 cable will handle both signals, I think you would need separate jacks if you wanted to receive both signals at the same time.

Get a RCA diplexer and it will combine the cable and satellite signals into one cable. Model # is D920. If you want to see it go to the RCA website and look under Satellite accessories.

I just picked up a 2005 328RLS and the cable is Satellite grade Coax. So the dealer tells me. I have not hooked my dish up yet but Will soon.

My 2005 327RKS came with one input on the outside. Inside I can two hookups and depending on whether I am using satetllite or cable depends which one I hookup to. I have used both cable and satellite and both work just fine.
