Iowa City, Iowa
The girls and I are on the move again, stopped in Colony Country RV Park, near Iowa City for a day or 2. We plan to check out the Amana Colonies today

Leonard,
Why did you choose Colony Country over Amana Colonies RV Park? We would like to visit there sometime in the future.

We stayed at Colony Country a couple years back. It is okay and very close to Iowa City, etc. Also stayed out in Oxford west of town. It was nice and a bit bigger. A funny (not so) thing happened at Oxford. As we were leaving, a truck and fifth wheel were being towed by a tow truck - still attached. I believe the trucker tried to turn a corner and with the pickup front end raised onto the tow vehicle - you guessed it - crash boom bam!! I wasn't real close, but it looked like the Fiver hit the bed rails or back window area.
So the lesson is always make sure they send out TWO tow vehicles.

We used to live in Iowa City. We stayed there at Colony Country during the move, both coming and going. I became like a second home to us. We even went out there a few times just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the house. For a GREAT burger and a few adult beverages, check out Reds there in North Liberty. It is about 2-3 mi from the campground. Amana is a neat place to visit and the food is great at the restaurants there (noticing a trend...I like to eat!) Colony country is nice as it is close to the highway and to local grocery stores, the mall, Wal-mart, etc. Amana Campground is nice, but is only near Amana. Anything else you have to drive back into town for. It is only a few miles and a nice drive. Enjoy your stay. If there is a Mobile Estates there tell Ken and Linda Howdy from AK
Tell Beth there at the campground that Tara and Ken said Hello and hope to see her soon!

We just pulled into the Amana Colonies RV Park. We will be here tonight and tomorrow night. If you drive around look for the Montana Big Sky!
