Satellite Finder App for IPhone 5?
Now that I have a IPhone, I am looking for recommendations for an App to help my husband find the satellites for Directv. Don't know if it makes a difference if you have dish or directv.
This should make his life easier and in turn, make mine easier too.
Thanks,
Marge

I like Dishpointer Pro
Yes you will need to pay for it but I find it works well.

You can select the satellites for Direct or Dish with Dishpointer Pro. I keep both sets so if someone needs Direct (I have Dish), I have them loaded. It works well.

Thanks for the info, I don't mind paying for it. Just went to ITunes and looked at the reviews for it and some people have problems with it for the IPhone 5.
Do you (ken and loui) have the IPhone or a different phone?
Thanks,
Marge

I use the Direct TV dishpointer and there is no charge. Just plug in our zip code and they give the Elev. and Azth, and if memory severs me well we have tilt for HD.

I use Dish Pointer AR Pro with my iPhone 4 with no problems. I'm lazy and it uses the phones GPS coordinates to show you the satellites. I use Dish, but it shows all the satellites you just have to know which are yours.

This is what I do with Dish Network. Free and easy and don't need phone.

I use Dishpointer Pro on Droid. I have a Carryout Automatic Antenna, but you still need to put it where there is clear line of site. The Dishpointer Pro will use your camera in the phone and show you were the satellites are over laid on the screen. If you see blue sky your are good, if you see trees, time to find another location.

I still do it the old fashion way, i guess. I enter the zip code into my DISH receiver, get my readings, set up and use a cheap $10 meter to fine tune it from outside of the rig.
when in mexico I just go on the internet and find what i need.

Thanks for the recommendations. Jim does pretty good setting it up by plugging in our zip code and finding out the co-ordinates. I just want to make it easier for him, and of course then it is easier for me....

That's great to hear. I noticed there are two Dishpointers, I believe one is called a Pro? Which one do you have?
